My nursing colleague in singapore is a Malaysian malay. She studied in chinese primary school before. She speaks fluent Chinese, Cantonese, and hokkien. She told me never to compare her with other malay. She's really thankful to her parents sending her to chinese school. I enjoyed working with her so much.
Walaupun US melaksanakan sekolah satu aliran tetapi masih berlaku byk kes racist, tambah lg satu contoh Indonesia, walaupun Indonesia melaksanakan sekolah satu aliran dr dulu dulu, even pun penduduk cina sudah ubah nama ke nama Indonesia, tetapi rusuhan 1998 masih berlaku...... so apa punca sebenar?? Sa far saya sekolah rendah sjk(c), sekolah menegah ialah smk. langsung xde problem pun dgn kawan bvangsa lain, jiran saya kiri ialah orang india, kanan ialah Melayu, langsung xde issue. And kawan terbaik saya ialah Melayu. Di company senior I Melayu jg. Langsung xde issue.
some people argue that we should be like our neighbour indonesia, the question is why should we be like them? or same as they are? like what's the point? why cant we be like how we are right now? if we are like indonesia in the first place, do you think we still celebrate CNY as grand as we are right now? do you think that indonesia have such strong multi cultural uniqueness like malaysia do? that's literally our country selling point and uniqueness. You can ask people from china or any other chinese majority country like hongkong, taiwan which country they prefer to travel between malaysia and indonesia? i can tell you here 99% of them will say malaysia cause of how unique our country is and how easy and convenient for them to travel cause of how wide our language usage and how cool for them to be able to experience such multicultural country. This country is beautiful as it is right now dont try to change it in the wrong direction.
