Can you choose a different Prores codec (LT, Proxy, etc)? how the BM Camera?

What is the bitrate currently when shooting Applelog in hevc? Don't see any info about it. Adding a various of bitrate choices would be great. The biggest weakness of BMCamera is the low bitrate, only 35-50mbps.

Simply and easy to understand, great work, going to get the app tonight. Would you recommend 4k or 1080p log for decent mobile viewing experience?

1080p is often plenty - 4k is nice if you want to crop your shot down later or if you really want maximum quality. Only you can make that decision - we recommend seeing what you like best, as files can get large and if you are only working for mobile, the difference isn’t huge :)

For auto mode: if I, for instance, select 30fps does auto set the expose time to 1/60 in the background? For manual I only have 4 options to select from. For 1/24 typical it is 180 (=1/48 expose time).

the manual controls don't work in the app. I've given up on trying to change the shutter angle manually. I still love the app but I can't wait until that issue is resolved in a n update.

Does Kino support recording in Apple Log with HEVC codec? Other camera apps do support that so if not I hope it would be available later!

yes, you can customize the video codec to HEVC while in Apple Log

thanks PD! We don’t have plans to add it yet but any vote for a feature definitely counts - Kino 1.1 is out today and it has tons of features packed in from all the feedback we received in the first weeks it’s been around. :)

Shame about the bugs - impossible to select shutter speed / angle in manual mode and videos not showing on external storage devices. Support is pretty poor too. Can't really see how Apple made it the no 1 phone app...

Great app, but useless with external storage. If you’re recording without applying a grade while using external storage Kino has no memory for historic recordings on the external storage. As soon as the app is closed, or the external storage is disconnected the app has no memory of the earlier recordings.

This is, so far, a limitation on how iOS handles external storage. We are (presumably for privacy reasons) not allowed to really access this filesystem; we can only write to it.
