Hey Yves, the bridge in the end is a Roman Bridge which was built 2200 years ago. And those Indo Europeans who had lived in this city and the country 4000 years ago are still living here. There is a misconception among the people of Turkey and they believe that we are all Turks and coming from the central Asia where is today China-controlled Uyghur region. But it's not completely correct. You can realize it from the face types. We are not a Turkic nation which has small eyes and flat faces with small noses, but a nation that was assimilated by Greeks after the Bronze age, then Romans, then Turks. The majority of today's Turkey is native Anatolians and Balkanians and minority is Turks, Kurds, Iranians, Arabs, Assyrians,Armenians, Celts and some Nordic German tribes ( from the dates when Ostrogoths migrated to Balkans during the Eastern Rome Era). So we are a huge mix of different ethnicities since these lands were a bridge between Europe, Asia and Africa and most of our ancestors didn't have any idea about what their origins are until 100 years ago when the Nationalism movement started to spread around the world.

@@Tritschi Turkish nationalism is making me sick. Even our flag is from Byzantine. Sultan Mehmet adopted the flag of Constantinople after he conquered the city, and change his title to Kaiser-i Rum which means the Ceaser of Rome and believed this new country his grandfather formed is the successor of the Roman Empire because the majority of the people who lived in the territories that Ottoman controlled were Eastern Romans...

Interesting what you say because we all Turks know that we are connection of Anatolian people and Middle Asian people, you talk like only you know this, our language and culture is what makes us Turks, not ethnicity or blood, and the people you mention in Middle Asia don't look like us because as we mixed with these people, they mixed with some Chinese and Mongols, my genious friend 🤣

Thank you Carl ! And regarding the kids, I don't really know, I guess it's because it's kind of a more common sentence. It seems to be specific to the Middle East, so maybe it's because it's a sentence more widely used in the Middle East, outside of the usual "love context" in the West.

When I was a child, there was a boy in our neighborhood who spoke German, and I learned to say "I love you" in German from him, and at the age of 27, that was still the only sentence I knew in German...
