I love watching the videos of the White House at Christmas. I just found out about it a couple of years ago. I loved the one that Melania Trump did. It was so elegant. Best ever. Lovely WH Tour, Rebecca. Congrats on being invited. Glad we still have some memorials…they recently removed Thomas Jefferson (shh…he had slaves). Nevermind about George and Martha….that was ok to the left I guess. Last I knew the White House is the American people’s house. It is there to represent America. The President & family live on one of the floors. A lot of offices are on the other floors. My brother worked at WH under Reagan. I’m with you, give me classical decor. Can’t believe they only gave you an hour….but as I recall when there all tours are an hour long. That was lovely….what an honor!

What an incredible honor to tour the White House decorated for Christmas! You deserved the invitation and I'm thrilled for you. I laughed when you said Willy Wonka because that was my first thought. Precious for children and so magical and I bet their eyes light up when they enter that area. Wow! I can't imagine the work and hours that goes into each and every room and organizing all of those volunteers. Thank you for clarifying that we as tax payers do not pay for this.....I had no idea. I treated myself on my 60th birthday at the Waldorf Hotel. I live 45 minutes away from Washington DC. I take the train to Washington DC. Instead of driving. I am so happy you had such a pleasant trip to Washington DC. It's an amazing place to visit. In the winter, Washingtin DC is very cold. ALL OF Maryland is very cold. You spoke so eloquently in such detail, describing such detail about your Washington DC trip. Your trip to the White House. Well done. I'm so happy to learn that you were able to visit some of the historic places in DC.
