I highly recommend readying "Scouts Out: A Kiowa Warrior Pilot's Perspective of War in Afghanistan" by Ryan Robicheaux. It's a great memoir of his time at both Bagram and Kandahar flying the Kiowa. From his account, they always flew with the MMS as well.
