I agree. However, I *think* the way that Katy Perry says it in the original is meant to be closer to either an Island nation or perhaps French and/or Haitian Creole accent or pronunciation. I could be wrong, of course, she could just be misappropriating a French accent, but most of my Haitian in laws, and every person I've ever met who primary speaks some form of Creole, generally uses that pronunciation for "bon appetit".
