The Pro leaned into the sides where he would receive the kicks, loading his weight down into his legs and lowering his center of gravity, hence making the receiving leg much stronger against the impact. The other guys leaned away, leaving their receiving legs weak against the kicking force and becoming instantly unstable. This is the determining factor here, not the power of the kicks themselves

Omg. My knee hurts looking at this. Counterintuitive, but leaning *into* the kick w your leg at a ~45* angle while your quads are flexed is a better way to defend against a kick like this. Super important to do when holding a bag if it's someone that has a haaaaard kick coming for you. Otherwise you risk blowing out your knee.

My trainer was this 4.11 foot tiny woman and I had so much fun watching her break in (literally) the new men/boys who were way too cocky. The power doesn’t come from your leg it comes from your hip and rotation with your full body. Do this correctly and you can kick someone across the room no matter how big you are, it’s a lot of fun. Front kicks too, I’m tiny and I was surprised that with a bit of practice I actually did sent a full grown man flying.
@masterreaper115
@masterreaper115 Ай бұрын
How did you manage to do a full grown man while flying? Was he flying, were you flying, were you both flying?
@claracatlady9844
@claracatlady9844 Ай бұрын
@@masterreaper115 a properly executed frontal kick with two steps run-up. His feet left the ground and he flew a good meter and a half. To be honest I think that outside of training this wouldn’t have sent him flying but simply shattered his rips and very much hurt him, however during training we use foam pillows so that the person doesn’t get super hurt. A foam pillow is flat and nice and makes for a very good surface to kick. It distributes force pretty evenly, so instead of having your rips broken, the force sends you flying backwards. A proper frontal kick already has the tendency to send you stumbling backwards but a proper frontal kick with 2 steps run-up (like we were training that day) will send most people flying a few feet or stumbling across the room trying to catch themselves. You need a lot, and I do me A LOT of body mass to be unaffected by this. Height won’t safe you, muscle won’t safe you, you either are built like a tank or extremely fat then you’d probably not be phased by a frontal kick from my 5.1 foot ass but someone a little bigger and beefier than me, definitely will still have an impact.

@@Katakuri.Charlotte obviously that comes with the territory. In the beginning or just when you don’t want to be so intense you can use leg covers/braces (idk what to call them?). Usually I find though if you are training with foam pillows (like the person you are kicking is holding one of those) then it doesn’t really matter, it doesn’t hurt in my opinion even though it’s not necessary very soft

You have to look at it this way, if this is ‘normal’ after 20 years,professional fighters would kick their opponents out of the ring with 1 lowkick. And they don’t. This is an exaggeration of how it feels to be kicked as a newbie in kickboxing, and that is all this is.

Their kicks aren't THAT bad. The guy is just leaning into the kicks so they cant take him off balance. Compare to how when the roles are reversed the first one doesnt move or transfer weight at all, and the other straight up lifted his leg before he received the kick. It's truly shitty technique vs decent technique.

It doesnt absorb. He leans on each leg pressing his weight onto it, so muscles are more thight, thus leg gets harder. Basicly when he gets kicked in leg, he feels less, it doesnt hurt him as much.
