I wanted to ask “素烧” refers to bisque fire?
@kiraku-pottery4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment. "Unbaked" is a temporary firing before firing. Clay is fired at around 700 ° C without glaze. After that, the kiln is fired (1230 ℃) by taking it out of the kiln, painting it, and applying glaze.

Thank you for your comment. This is an introduction to painting decoration with cobalt paint. It is an introduction that you can decorate with paint, glaze, and slip.
Thank you for your comment. The influence of corona seems to be common throughout the world! Even in Japan, economic activity has stopped due to refraining from sales, and there are few participants in the pottery class. However, in Japan, the state of emergency has also been lifted and economic activity is likely to resume in earnest. The makeup mud I write is the same as the slip. Since I use Google translation, slips do not appear and English translation of makeup soil becomes makeup mud (soil). I think that it probably conveys the meaning, so I leave it as it is. Please continue to enjoy the videos and increase your knowledge of pottery. When the corona turmoil is over, please make full use of that knowledge to make ceramics!
So we call 化粧泥 slip decoration. :) Slip is what we call any liquid clay. I love your videos and thank you for making so many. Do you have a video about hagi glazes?

Thanks for your comment. Thank you for watching so many videos. I didn't understand the English notation of slip. Liquid clay is also good! Thank you for teaching me. For the glaze about Hagi ware, the video below is similar to "Oni hagi glaze". kzbin.info/www/bejne/m6LHqqqvgr2kq6c The feature is that the white glaze is curly. Please check and see.

@@kiraku-pottery I watched that video right after commenting. 😅 Thank you. :) I think the word slip comes from shortening the word slippery. Slippery can mean like slimy (ぬるぬる). Explaining is tricky between languages. 🤔 Slipware is what the style can be called.

Thank you for your reply! I use google translation, but technical terms of pottery are often not converted. You will learn from various things. Hagi ware is a popular pottery dish in Japan. Please try it.

kiraku WEB動画 陶芸教室 Do you apply clear glaze after the painting is dry? Here we’re taught to do underglaze on raw clay, fired once then apply clear glaze and then the final firing. Thanks!

In my case, I do unglazed (700 ℃) once and then give a rough sketch. After painting, glazed transparent glazed and fired. In each process, the clay, paint, and glaze are dried before proceeding to the next process.
