Thank you for another great video. I have 20 pieces coming out of the bisque kiln this week. Instead I used speckled Buff clay and white slip. Hoping to get a nice Kohiki style effect.

I think that method is also good. It's interesting to try how unevenly you can make it.

Bet they were nice. I do similar but use Highwater Speckled Brownstone and Colonial White Glaze. I'm about to try to make some using Brown Bear with ~10% coarse grog and a white or colored engobe. Hope to get a nice 'crumbly' effect on the trimmed bottom as the large grog gets 'raked' out of the clay.

I managed to make the ‘small(?) shallow plate/ bowl’ similar shape to what you made! 😆 Just a question here, I only learn to throw with a small lump of clay not a big hump like yours. So I wonder roughly how much clay(g or kg) you’d use for making those plates (bowls)? Mine still seems quiet heavy and I like lighter pieces...

Thanks for your comment! The amount of clay is determined by the size of the work you want to make. I haven't measured the specific kg, so I don't know, but I think it's about 1 kg for a plate. Of course, when making a large plate, the amount of clay will increase. Please send a fulfilling pottery life.

コメントありがとうございます。 またいつも見て頂き感謝です。 私の焼成温度は1230℃で還元焼成にて焼成しております。土によって耐火度が異なるので、耐火度が低い粘土の場合は焼成温度を変えると良いです。

コメントありがとうございます。 釉薬をかけた器は基本的には問題ないと思いますよ～焼く前に器に埃がたまっている事があるので、軽く吹いて埃をおとしたほうが良いと思います。 生がけは薄くても大丈夫ですが、優しく丁寧にかつ素早く施釉した方が良いですね！釉薬に長く浸けすぎると割れたりする恐れがあります。生地が厚ければ、素焼きと同様で良いと思います。 充実した陶芸ライフをお送り下さい。

返信有難うございます。 磁器でも 柔らかい粘土しか 使ってなかったので 他の有名な轆轤氏の方のような 技術 体力有りません。 型打ちもやってましたけど… 基本 丸物細工人です。 知り合いに 数人 窯焼いてる型も居ますけど 皆土物やってる方です。

こんにちは。質問です。特練り大自然土の代わりに荒目赤土を使用したいと思っているのですが、動画のように赤みがあって鉄粉が吹く仕上がりになりますかね

Thank you for your comment. I think the problem will be solved if you apply the slip when the clay is semi-dry. Also, if the slip is too concentrated, it is more likely to crack.

コメントありがとうございます。 酸化焼成で焼くことは大丈夫ですが、仕上り具合が動画のモノとはだいぶ異なります。 電気窯で還元焼成の方法を記した動画を7月20日にアップしますので参考になさってください。 焼成方法で焼上りが異なってしまうので色々と試してみてください。

コメントありがとうございます。 そうですね。薄くし過ぎると歪んできますね・・・。 意識するところは、均等に薄くなっているかです。均等に薄くなっていれば、かなり薄くしても歪みにくいですが、逆に厚みがマチマチだと厚くても歪みます。それと、薄く上に伸ばしてから広げていくと歪みにくいと思います。 頑張って上達してくださいね。
