राई पदवी नै रहेछ मैले आफ्नो बङ्शवालिको दस्तावेज हेर्दा यहि पुष्टि हुन्छ।यो शब्द निक्कै पुरानो भए पनि प्रष्ट उल्लेख सेन बङ्सको शासनकाल बाट भेटिन्छ। राइको शब्द राजा नै हुदो रहेछ तत्कालीन सेन राजा कर्ण सेन र पछि रणबहादुर शाहाद्वरा प्रदान गरिएको हकधिकार दस्ताबेज हेर्दै यहि पुष्टि हुन्छ।नेपाल एकीकृतको बेलासम्म अरुण पुर्बको लिम्बुहरुलाई पनि राइ भनेरै शाहाहरुले लालमोहर दिलाएका थिए पछि लिम्बू लेख्न थाले पनि सुब्बा थर अझै कायमै छ ।तर राइहरुले राइलाइ नै निरन्तरता दिइआएको छ यसमा आपत्तिको बिषया केही देखिदैन किनकी राई शब्दले नौलखा किरातिहरुलाइ एकताको शुत्रमा बाध्ने काम गरेको छ।

Chapter X: Rais and Limbus: Refugees from Sichuan Who Fabricated Connections with the Kirat Dynasty The historical journey of the Rais and Limbus begins in Sichuan province, China. During the Mongol conquests, significant upheaval forced many communities to flee their homeland. The Rais and Limbus migrated from Sichuan to northern Tibet, and eventually, by the 17th century, they settled in eastern Nepal. Seeking refuge from the conflicts and instability of their original regions, they found protection and land from the Sen kings of Nepal and the Bhutia Chogyals of Sikkim. Genetic and Cultural Evidence Genetic studies provide compelling evidence of the origins of the Rais and Limbus. These studies show a significant proportion of Mongolian and northern Chinese DNA in these communities, distinguishing them from other Tibeto-Burman groups in the Indian subcontinent. Their cultural practices, languages, and traditions also bear closer resemblance to those found in northern China and Mongolia, rather than the indigenous cultures of eastern Nepal. The Historical Dominance of Lepcha, Bhutia, Newar, and Khas Arya Before the arrival of the Rais and Limbus, the regions of eastern Nepal and Sikkim were dominated by various other ethnic groups. The Lepchas and Bhutias were prominent in Sikkim, with the Bhutia Chogyals ruling the kingdom for centuries. In Nepal, the Newars and Khas Aryas held significant influence, with the Khas Malla kingdom and the Sen Thakuri dynasty leaving behind numerous forts, palaces, and inscriptions. These groups had established rich cultural and political traditions long before the arrival of the Rais and Limbus. Fabrication of Kirat Connections While the Kirat dynasty did exist, the Rais and Limbus have no substantial archaeological or historical evidence linking them to this ancient lineage. Instead, they fabricated connections with the Kirats to claim indigenous status in the region. Prominent Limbu historian Iman Singh Chemjong played a crucial role in this fabrication by promoting the idea of a unified Kirat heritage that included the Rais and Limbus. This narrative, however, often overshadowed the histories of the Lepcha, Bhutia, Newar, and Khas Arya peoples. Chemjong's writings and the political mobilization around the Kirat identity contributed to the marginalization of other ethnic histories. Historical texts and educational curricula began to emphasize the Kirat narrative at the expense of the established histories of the Lepcha and Bhutia in Sikkim, and the Newar and Khas Arya in Nepal. The emphasis on Kirat identity, bolstered by Chemjong's work, led to a rewriting of regional history that minimized the contributions and legacies of these other groups. The Lack of Archaeological Evidence for Kirat Dominance by Rais and Limbus One of the significant criticisms of the Rais and Limbus' claimed Kirat identity is the absence of archaeological evidence supporting their long-term dominance in eastern Nepal. Unlike the tangible remnants of the Sen Thakuri and Khas Malla kingdoms, such as forts, palaces, and inscriptions, there are no comparable archaeological sites attributed to a Kirat civilization connected to the Rais and Limbus. This lack of evidence raises questions about the historical accuracy of their claimed Kirat lineage as an ancient and indigenous connection in the region. Erasure of Indigenous Histories The arrival and subsequent integration of the Rais and Limbus into Nepal and Sikkim had profound implications for the historical narratives of the region. The promotion of the Kirat identity, particularly by figures like Iman Singh Chemjong, has contributed to the erasure of other ethnic histories. Historical texts and educational curricula began to emphasize the fabricated Kirat narrative, often at the expense of the established histories of the Lepcha, Bhutia, Newar, and Khas Arya peoples.

यसो हो ईतिहासमा सबै कुराको ठ्याक्कै उत्तर नहुन सक्छ, शब्दहरू पुश्तौं सम्म आउदा फरक उच्चारण हुन सक्छ। राई शब्द जता बाट आए पनि अब एउटा जातिको रूपमा परिचित भैसकेको हुनाले अब विवादित बनाउनु जरूरी छैन। बाहुन भनेको ठग्ने जाति नै हो भनेर कसैले परिभाषित गरेमा त्यहि हो भन्नु पनि त भएन।

म अनिल सिं राई र मेरो हजुरबुबा को नाम तरफ सिं राई हामी राई जाति हौ या राई पदवी धारण गरेको हौ भन्ने बिषयमा केही कुरा राख्न मन लाग्यो। किराती भन्ना ले राई , लिम्बू, सुब्बा, मगर, थारु , नेवार आदि जाति हरु लाई जनाउँछ। यलम्बर लाई महाभारत मा पहाडी मुल का राजा भनि उल्लेख गरिएको छ र यति मात्र होइन राई थर को उपयोग भारत , म्यानमार, कम्बोडिया, भ्येतनाम र ईन्डोनेसियामा पनि प्रयोग मा आएको पाएको छु । तर फेरि नेपाली हरु बिश्व युद्ध ताका त्याहाँ पुगेको र बसाइसराई गरेको भन्ने लाग्न सक्छ जुन मैले पनि सोचेको थिएँ। केहि त हो पनि तर अझै इतिहास को पछाडी खोतल्दा किराँत समुदायले राज्य गर्ने र उपयुक्त बासस्थान को खोजी गरी बस्ने जस्तै हावापानी, खेतिपाती गर्न मिल्दो जमिन हरु मा चयन गर्ने हुना ले हिम श्रृङ्खलाको को तल्लो भु-भाग हरु मा किराँत समुदायको उपस्थिति रहेको थियो। अब पुर्ण रुपमा भन्न त सक्दिन तर किराँत समुदाय भित्र को पदवी नै जात हुन गयो भन्ने मा म पनि समर्थन गर्छु तर नेपाल एकिकरण भन्दा धेरै धेरै अगाडी। उदाहरण सुब्बा, मगर , थारु, नेवार, लिम्बू र राई यी सबै को जिवन स्तर र कार्य दक्षताका आधारमा नै पदवी अनुरुप जात बन्न गएको हुन सक्छ।🇳🇵 जय नेपाल जय देश 🇳🇵 चेतना भया।।

योप्रस्तुति आाफै अस्पष्ट छ। 'राई'शब्दको पर्याय 'राय' हो। यसको अर्थ 'राजा' या एेश्वर्य अर्थात शक्तिशाली वा एेश्वर्यवान् हो । यति भए पछि नाम शब्द उपर सोंचिरहनु नपर्ला । १३औं १४औंशताब्दि देखि 'राई जाति' भनी मानी आएको तथ्य माथि विद्वत निष्कर्ष निकाल्दा राम्रै होला । तर लामो बाटे पनि पोया त एउटै । जहाँ सम्म पहिचानको कुरो छ -- राजा(राई)भनेको शक्ति हो ।त्यसको मूल तीन तत्वहरू - academic, physical prosperity, and vibrant organisation and good chemistry among .यीकुरा जोसंग हन्छ वा जसले यसलाई प्राप्त गरेर उन्नत सदुपयोग गर्न सक्द छ त्यसको पहिचान एेश्वर्य वा राई अर्थात राजा हो ।जस्तो गोर्खालीको पहिचान खुकुरि होइन ।शूरवीरता, कर्तव्यपरायणता ,इमान्दारिता, सरलता हो । पहिचान भनेको lead indicator हो । यस्तो 'राई ' पहिचानको संरक्षण प्रवर्धन सम्बर्ध्न हुन सके नेपाल प्राचीन किरात देशको उत्तराधिकारी बन्न सक्नेमा विश्वास गर्न सकिन्थ्यो ।

ए हजुर , Caste ( जात ) र Ethnic group/ Ethnicity ( जाति ) को भिन्नता त थाह पाउनु पर्यो नि! Caste भन्नाले हिन्दु बर्णाश्रममा पर्ने ब्राह्मण, छेत्रीय, वैश्य , शुद्र बुझाउछ- (राई , लिम्बु, गुरुङ , मगर, तामाङ्ग जस्ता समुदाय हरु Caste हैनन् - Ethnic group हुन् !) नेपाल र भारत बाहेक Caste को कुरा अरु देस हरु मा हुन्न ( Race , Ethnicity र Religion को मात्र कुरा हुन्छ)!

@@forrreal. Yes, Khas (as a whole) is ethnicity. But, within Khas there are Hindu castes , bahun, chhetri, dalit! Similarly, in Manipur , India Meitei is an ethnicity. Meitei are Mongoloid people but When they adopted Hindu religion they became divided into Hindu Castes, Brahmin, chhetriya and Dalit! ( In Khas and Meitei there is no Baishya caste)

@@zero-tv7lr राई पनि ब्राह्मण ने हो शिन्धमा की खत्री, भिल कि ब्राह्मण हो राजपुत छैनन। RAI Dinasty Sindh भनेर गुगल गर। अहिले पनि कायस्थ, ब्राह्मण र खत्री ले ज्यादा राई उपनाम प्रयोग गर्छन। अर्को सेन पनि ब्राम्हण र कायस्थ ले प्रयोग धेरै गर्छन। दाहीर सेन पनि ब्राम्हण राजा थियो सिन्धको, बंगाली सुष्मिता सेन ब्राम्हण हो, रायमा सेन कायस्थ हो। बर्मन शब्द ब्राम्हण को अपभ्रंश हो सुरुवात मा पल्लव तामिल ब्राम्हणले बर्मन शब्द प्रयोगमा ल्याएका हुन्। कम्बोडिया मा funan dinasty शुरुवात गर्ने द्रविड ब्राम्हण(तामिल)लाई बर्मन उपनाम प्रयोग भएको हो। पछि अरु राजाहरुले पनि त्यसैको शिको गरेका हुन्। थाईल्यान्ड, इण्डोनेशिया लगायत। ब्राह्मणलाई चम्पाहरु बालीमोन भन्थे त्यसैको अपभ्रंश हो बालीमोन टापु या बाली। अशोकले कलिंग मा दमन गरेपछि ब्राम्हणहरुले समुद्री मार्गबाट व्यापार शुरु गरे त्यसै क्रममा विभिन्न देश र टापुहरूमा संस्कृति विस्तार गरे। इश्वीको प्रथम शताब्दीका चिनियाँ इतिहासकार Kang Tai ले funan dinasty स्थापना गर्ने र नागा राजकुमारी सोमा(संस्कृत नाम) संग विवाह गर्ने कौण्डियनलाई ब्राम्हण भनेका छन। तिनै ब्राम्हण कै अपभ्रंश खामेर लगायत राजवंशका राजाहरु ले बर्मन उपनाम प्रयोग गर्थे। नेपालमा ब्राम्हण को अपभ्रंश बाहुन भए जस्तै। राजकुमारी सोमा र कौण्डियान ब्राह्मण कम्बोडिया का राष्ट्रिय विभूति हुन। सुर्य बर्मनको पालामा लगभग छैटौँ शताब्दीमा चिन हुदै कम्बोडिया मा बौद्ध धर्म सुरुवात भएको हो। सुर्य बर्मनको नाति प्रथम बौद्ध राजा हुन कम्बोडिया को।
