Vern the reason there us a shooting is because they couldn’t scope shot to work so they replaced it with that. Also a leaked look at that back of the box the game comes in says that there will an extra mode focused on Magolor that takes place after the main game. Also there was originally supposed be a cutscene in the original game where, if you got a 100% save file, you would get to see Magolor apologizing to Kirby and Kirby forgiving him. Even though it was cut, Shinya Kumazaki, the director of the Kirby series has said it did still happen in canon.
