I think the best part is right at the end, where as the characters are walking away, Dedede and Escargoon ask Kirby to dig them out, adding as an incentive that they promise not to try to kill him until he's finished. Kirby happily turns back to help them, and the other characters all try to stop him.

This is only my opinion, but, I always preferred game DeDeDe over anime DeDeDe, he'd rather challenge Kirby to an actual fight than sending random monsters/demons after him. However I do love his English dub voice it's really iconic.

Honestly as much as I find this version of the character to be charming I agree with this sentiment. This version of the character is definetely a lot more cowardly then the one from the games. In fact that's what I'd say is the biggest issue with this show even with all its qualities: it doesn't take enough advantage of what was in the games. Remember that this anime started production in the year 2000. This was the same years Kirby 64 was released. This means that characters like Zero, Dark Matter, Marx, Adeleine, Captain Vol (the Eagle in the general suit that teams up with Meta Knight in Meta Knight's Revenge in KSS), Mr. Shine and Mr. Bright (the literal sun and moon), Galactic Nova, ANY of the boss characters from Great Cave Offensive. These were all characters that could've been utilized well in this series. Marx could've been the Court Jester of Dreamland, who initially is friendly but then becomes villainous after Dedede's TV sets make him obsolete and he gets cast aside. You could've had an entire episode based around Gourmet Race. You could've had an episode based on Great Cave Offensive where all of the principle characters of the anime would fall down the manhole and land in separate parts of the cave. You see what I'm getting at?
