If I may correct on the Meta-Knight ability... Meta-Knight's skills have been basically drawn from his fighting appearances, including the tornado attack. I'd say it's far more accurate to say kirby mirrors THAT one, though in Brawl, the way it works is diffrent.

I knew Kirby's sword ability was definitely a Link reference because as with the oraginal Legend of Zelda games, when Kirby has full health he can fire a projectile sword if he slashes once

Also for Ice/Freeze Kirby, the Kirby hat for Ice/Freeze when they gave all abilities hats in Superstar was a Parka like that, I think, only Kirby himself was colored blue. It could be more than a coincide that the two hats look almost identical.

Because of their similarities, In Kirby Super Star, Ice and Freeze were essentially put together into the "new" Ice ability, which gave Kirby an Icy Crown and colored him blue. Kirby didn't actually wear a parka for his Freeze ability until the remake of Kirby's Adventure, Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland for the GBA; which looked suspiciously similar to Popo's from Melee. However in Kirby Air Ride, Ice Looks and functions almost exactly the same way Freeze did in Nightmare in Dreamland.

I always thought of the Waddle Dees as the other "Kirby"s (so to say) that live in dream land. At the end of Spring Breeze (and I think Kirby's Dream Land) you can see Kirby on a stage with all the other "Kirby"-like people in the audience. The Waddle Dees look like Kirby in a one piece suit, they are similar in size and appearance and they have the same pink faces and eyes. Meta Knight also looks like a blue Kirby (without his armor and mask).

Other similarities not in the video: Rollout functions similar to Wheel Kirby And some similarities that are not in Brawl: Link's Boomerang functions similar to the Cutter ability Roy's Flare Blade (and for that matter, Ike's Eruption) allow Kirby to use a flaming sword, just like the mix abilities and K64 and Squeak Squad Young Link's Fire Bow is similar to the Burning/Cutter mix ability in Kirby 64

the studio who made smash bros is the same from the kirby games, and from their long story of reusing things, i guess it's quite possible they built the character roster as a selection of existing kirby power ups, keep in mind they designed the special moves as well, like meta-knights tornado ability and bowser's fire breathing, which are essentially kirby power ups. that's wihtout mentioning half the roster is the exact same movies in a different character.

While you have a good point on some of these... I disagree with Donkey Kong (seems stretching it), Rob's beam working like Laser isn't from the games, it's from ROB, and I think the Ice Climber thing is certainly a coincidence as the hat isn't even shaped right (in Kirby Adventure it's a santa hat with the ball in the back, in Brawl it's just the absorbed Ice Climbers' hood.)

Great job on covering Kirby's moves. My only concern are that you missed a few things, all of which involve Kirby's moves, not his hats and their trivia. 1.) Go back to 3:10 in the video. You'll notice the way he climbs the hill. One of Kirby's rolling edge-recovery animations are similar to this. 2.) 5:50 Whenever Kirby punches (or does something to go into falling state), he does the same animation as when he falls for a while in his games. 3.) The "Hi!" down taunt was missed altogether.

I want Kirby to get a full on different moveset by copying someone, and the moveset being based off of his games. For example, copying Link or Toon Link gives sword, Mario, Luigi and Bowser give fire, Samus gives plasma, Ness gives Yo-Yo, and Shiek gives ninja, just to name a few.
