Kirby Wiki admin here. This video is awesome! I knew a lot of these going in, but you surprised me with how thorough you were! There are even more references and nods than I thought. You did a fantastic job putting this video together! And thanks for crediting Kirby Wiki; most people don't do that even when they lift trivia I wrote word-for-word. Allow to share a couple things you missed: -Whip Kirby's hat and whip combo appear to be inspired by Indiana Jones. -It appears the Pop Flower colors you mentioned are the reason Red Kirby was dropped, since he would turn flowers red like King Dedede. -The Kirby GCN Water helper seen at 46:17 appear to be an early design for Pluid, a Water enemy in Return to Dream Land. -Beyond just the flying yellow hair, Goriath charges his own Kamehameha waves and Spirit Bombs! -The Ancients created the Star Rod as well. You combined both of Magolor's descriptions to describe Galactic Nova, but the second seems to refer to the Star Rod specifically--hence the "bring dreams to life" bit. -Magolor's battle theme, "Under My Control," contains a motif from the Dimensional Rift theme. -Magolor Soul's theme, "C-R-O-W-N-E-D," contains motifs from the Lor Starcutter's interior theme and the Crystal Area theme from Kirby Super Star (Ultra). -Magolor has hair under his hat! He mentions this if you annoy him enough in Extra Mode, saying that he "really need[s] a haircut." Bravo on a job well done! NBK

I'm surprised I havent seen anyone mention Fighter Kirby at all, one of my favorite little easter eggs with Fighter Kirby is that instead of using normal inputs for his moves, you can use the classic Street Fighter inputs like quarter circle forward + punch to get a fireball! Also worth mentioning is how Fighter Kirby might just be a reference to Ryu from SF in general with his classic Shoto moveset, and the red headband Kirby wears being similar to Ryu's. A wonderful video youve crafted here, nothing makes me happier than seeing people talk about something they love and its clear you have a lot of love for this series, and respect for the people who crafted it. 19:00 For more clarity, Son Goku was based on Sun Wukong, a monkey deity from Jourbey to the West, and the Saiyajins as a whole have monkey tails and can turn into giant monkeys. Goriath also literally shoots ki blasts out of his hands, and does an attack that is pretty much the Kamehameha. His powering up animation also resembles that done by the Saiyajins, and his eyes turning red could be a reference to the early anime concept of SSJ having red eyes (or just a reference to the eye colour change in general).

(other notable examples being the end cutscene in KTDX, the KSSU The Great Cave Offensive intro cutscene, etc.) In theory, you can also check how much health each boss has without checking the code via the amount of health Metal General takes, though I am too lazy to do this myself. This is an amazing video. Very informative. There were a lot of stuff I didn't even think about until I watched the video. While watching, I couldn't help but feel the urge to point out things, and I ended up with a list of them. Here's the list. Correction on the HAL Room trivia. There's an accessable HAL Room hidden in stage 3 of Kirby: Canvas Curse's Block Attack subgame. When talking about Hearbell, you could've brought up PacFlower, the Pacto variant that would eventually show up in Kirby: Triple Deluxe. It looks very similar to Hearbell in design. This is more about Kirby's Return to Dream Land, and references to games made before it though, and the end of the video leaves open the possibility of videos for the other Kumazaki-era titles, so I can see why it wasn't included. Goriath also references Donkey Kong's ground pound and clinging, as well as Luffy's stretchy punch (though the charging animation is possibly a reference to Donkey Kong's Giant Punch in Super Smash Bros. 64). To add to the Stake puzzle trivia, Kirby: Squeak Squad also has a similar Bomb Block setup to the one that Kirby & the Amazing Mirror had. In Nature Notch's first level particularly. To add to the Mid-boss Tower trivia, Kirby: Squeak Squad also had a Mid-boss volcano level that uses the same pattern with using the Midbosses' powers to obtain the Treasure Chests. As far as beta elements go, I'd like to mention that Armor Dees still use the red Waddle Dee textures for the Waddle Dees in control of it, even though the final design for Puppet Dee updated the Waddle Dees in control of it to be yellow orange. Armor Dees still use a red color of metal around it's armor, the shade of which matches the Waddle Dees underneath it, so it's possible that Armor Dee was never updated to fit the yellow-orange color change that Waddle Dees and Puppet Dees went through, which would honestly be pretty strange. Also, the old beta footage shows an unused animation for Water Kirby's dash attack, where it looks more like he's surfing. The old beta footage for the dimensional rift also shows some unused foe inside the rift wall. The dimension Magolor's black hole sends Kirby to looks very similar to the background of Marx Soul's battle stage from Kirby Super Star Ultra. It's even using similar shades of blue and red violet. The hexagons in Galacta Knight's battle stage are also similar to the large ones engraved in the grounds of his original battle stage, as well as the ones featured in Marx Soul's battle stage.

36:17 That’s an acid bassline! It’s most well-produced by the Roland TB-303.
