The original Void Soul fight seemed as if it was being a bit playful in the way it was attacking, holding back, if you will, while having a good old laugh. This fight however, it seems alot more malicious than before, as if it has a whole new intent. It no longer feels you are a plaything. Instead, it seems to actually try to murder Kirby without holding back. Of course, though, cheap stone tactics always wins.

its weird the amount of depth this goes into but void is pretty much kirby's origin. basically? primordial being that rebirths itself depending on emotions it comes in contact with. when it came into contact with negative emotions it created Zero/dark matter. and when it came into contact with positive emotions? kirby was created. Void Termina was created because it came into contact with extreme negative emotions.

Actually they explained the concept behind this. HAL had said something along the lines of; We start the game sunny, cheerful and friendly which invites you to keep going. As you progress the game goes darker and more difficult to show a sense of progression and by the end it's Eldritch abominations and the post games are notorious for their difficulty. So it's actually a brilliant game design to shift from cute and adorable to "WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT?!" and to shift the difficulty from A Spring Breeze to A Nightmare.

So, this is what I've gathered. Void Termina is the primal form of all of Kirby's species. It starts with a soul, a small spark of life birthed from the cosmos. As the soul develops, it gains a psuedo physical form in the form of Void Termina, a being with incredible power. Void Termina itself is unthinking, wandering forever. Depending on its atmosphere and or surroundings, it can become one of three things: A pure being filled with happiness and a fine sense of heroism in the shape of Kirby. A sentient, yet balanced being with a sense of Good and Evil similar to Meta Knight, Galacta Knight, and Morpho Knight. Or A primordial, parasitic darkness with zero sense of morality or feelings. Void's Soul was on the verge of becoming another progenitor of Dark Matter, Zero. So it's not 03 like people believe. All and all, Kirby's species go through a 'Void Termina' phase before becoming who they are.

Nah, I'd think the Void Termina phase is already partially corrupted thanks to all the dark hearts sacrificed to revive it. Though if anything, Termina IS also the balanced form, after all it did prevent a catastrophe way back in the past before being sealed, and technically we haven't actually seen it doing anything evil or good outside of sending hearts all over. Not to mention, when initially released, it sent off both friend and dark hearts (the friend heart hitting Kirby). The thing is, Void Termina or rather, Void Soul represents Chaos, which inherently isn't innately good or bad.

I'm leaning in the 'void matter' aspect. Dark matter is the negative incarnation. The Kirby species is the positive incarnation. And Void, Void termina, Void Soul is the beginning phase as a neutral incarnation that evolves depending on the negative/positive energies or a combo of both conflicting with its mind and the physical form accommodating to the changes. I believe metaknight is a void soul that got a perfect mix of both, but lost the energy manipulation and copy essence of the kirby and dark matter species, but gained the unique ability to put this in objects to use for whatever purposes to suit them. Its voice being kirby's but distorted. The appearance of the void phase constantly fluctuating between the appearance of dark matter and kirby (it doesn't yet know what it wants to be because of the positive external influence in kirby and the negative influence of hyness, so it's literally tearing itself apart to find out). The similar attacks it has like kirby's copy abilities (except they are have been enhanced like super abilities) The humanoid/bird forms being able to channel energy in objects (like metaknight's sword or kirby using weapon copy abilities). The soundtrack having distorted motifs of the green greens theme throughout the duration. The increasing sentience from the story mode, guest star, and hero's in another dimension. And lastly, the smile it wears upon "dying," and the 5th part of Astral Birth Void's theme. This heavily implies that kirby, metaknight, dark mind, & dark matter are extensions or reincarnations of void (kirby species), void soul (metaknight subtypes here), void termina (dark matter goes here) and all incarnations change depending on morale alignment. Void is special. Despite attacking kirby and co, the last sorrowful piano remix of void strongly implies that it can't control its actions (it WAS summoned to destroy everything), and the attacks are like newborn baby wails. The smile it has indicates that when it reincarnates, this one specific void will come back on the side of good, content that it *finally* filled the void, that was its soul, with what the other reincarnation had; happiness. The songs becoming more distorted, until the 5th remix, slows into a much more bittersweet definitive piece. It's as though Void, while still aggressive, is just starting to understand what the concept of compassion. Even though its body and soul still remain hooked on destroying the universe (as Hyness' wish), the Star Allies' action of helping each other, saving the mage-sisters, and even hyness, and their willingness to openly engage its previous incarnation s of void termina and void soul to protect the universe from its wraith and evil commands managed to affect the core holding onto the rage, hate and jealousy hyness summoned it through and proceeded to *soul melt* the negativity away (the remix also heavily enforces this). The smile it had upon 'death' was its *first* willing action of sentience and awareness of its actions. We can see the increasing sentience from Kirby's numerous confrontations with it. *Void Termina* is basic as it gets due to hyness having to use himself and the mage sisters to fill the missing jamba hearts (they pale in power compared to the jamba hearts) and this didn't work out as effective as it should. *Void Soul* has more dangerous attacks and utilizes them more effectively, but only because of the increased positive energy intergrated into its being. *Void* is just very clever. It utilizes many soul boss attacks with its own autograph-like print on them (except dark mind's). The Star Allies' influence did more than cease its malice. They managed to stop it from transforming into a dark matter and managed to get it onto the side of good and this gave it enough sentience to allow something it was robbed of at birth: *a choice.* The smile was full awareness, control, respect, and acknowledgment of kirby stopping its evil deeds, and although it can't make up for what it *would have done.* It can start over... as a *friend (Kirb is implied to be that very friend).*

That, I do not know for sure (but the unlock does imply this as well). But, what's clear is the similar power kirby, metaknight (i believe metaknight is a sub type of the kirby species), and dark matter posses. The whole Void Termina fight showcases this. No matter what form a void termina takes, it's extremely powerful and has a desire to fill the 'void' inside itself after gaining sentience and choosing a moral alignment. Metaknight wanted dreamland to stop being lazy in super star and later wanted to become stronger by fighting strong opponents (that is, after helping kirby become more adept in adventure). Metaknight is a void soul that is looking out for the nearest one and seeks to become stronger, but not by unfair means or ones that go against his codes of honor (he's a perfect neutral, only helping when it absolutely calls for him to do so and not causing trouble after superstar). Kirby is surprisingly easy to satisfy. Give him food, some friends, and a place to call home and he'll never really want anything else. Kirby is a void soul that got a taste of happiness and would protect this happiness on popstar. Dark matter (or zero being an amalgamation of many) is a void termina that probably thought being, met that you belonged to 'zero' (itself in this case) and would attack places of happiness as a start to show the universe what happens when you ignore zero's will. And the True Void Termina being this indecisive newborn void conflicting with all of these new concepts AS it's gaining sentience with its soul shape shifting into these previous forms to see which it wants is a fantastic representation of how difficult change is, especially for underdeveloped young. That's why the soul phase is amazing, it's been given commands by hyness, but external influences conflict with this and give it more options to chose from (the smile indicating at death that it's finally chosen).

I found an easter egg at 7:00. You can see some red and blue oval circles in the background. These circle probably may be a reference to the circles in the background of Hyperzone 2/ Zero battle in Kirby's Dreamland 3. I could remember that in a special version of the Zero battle you could see those red and blue circles in the background too.

The scariest things about The Void are the faces it makes, like when it laughs, or jumbles its eyes and mouth around, or when it turns into Dark Matter. But the cherry on top, when he dies, he... smiles. A seemingly innocent smile, and it's just like Kirby's. That's just downright creepy.

God, I loved this boss...the Soul Melter one was challenging, but once you understood patterns, it was easy. This fight? Had me managing 4 different health bars to lock onto, the speed of attacks, and when I got to the head, I was panicking like mad....the flash card, The True Destroyer of Worlds speaks MILES for this boss. The challenge is immense, but the fact that all of his weak spots are open means you either have trouble going for each one individually or you find it easier as they're free to shoot. It increases the pace of the fight drastically, and cuts down the Sparkler sections by quite a bit. The inside section was a visual marvel...I really can't put it to words. Playing this boss blind was an amazing experience for me, and though I just cheese phased with Magolor, I got to beat one of the coolest bosses with my favourite character. Utterly brilliant.

He is one of those kind of "villains" that is actually a broken guy/entity that didn't get to experience love. To shrug it off, he laughs all the time, to make it seem like he is fine and that he doesn't need anybody to love him. He doesn't want to kill people, but he does it because nobody cares about him anyways and thus he has nothing to lose, not caring if he dies or not. However, he wishes that someone would come to him and give him some genuine love and appreciation, to comfort him and heal him from this homicidal personality that has taken him over.

Honestly I agree with this interpretation. I highly doubt that Void becomes Kerbe, because the lore states that in ancient times, full power Void was in the same godlike state he’s in in the boss fight. He has always been an Azathoth/Ymir like being and will always be one.

Sure, it has features and attacks from Zero's Moveset, but it also has features and attacks from Miracale Matter, Dark Mind, and regular Dark Matter. But at the same time, Void Termina probably existed WAY before Dark Matter was even an idea.

Love that not only does Void Termina and all of its phases reference Zero, Zero 2 and Dark Matter, but Void has a very interesting implication that it has a connection to Kirby [it even has Kirby's eyes and mouth in its core and, when you think about, Kirby himself can do a lot of what these creatures can do thanks to his Copy ability, perhaps Kirby is actually just a calm version of a Dark Matter]. There's also very obvious references to the Master Crown that confirm a long-standing theory that it houses the power of Dark Matter.

Words to note: He has Dark Mind's second form attacks as well as the attacks of Dark Matter and most soul bosses. Also, the splash image is of the original Hyper Zone. Ninja edit: that cutter barrage is almost certainly a Drawcia Soul reference, 1 for 1. Also he just breaks out direct moves from other soul bosses now. And the background changes to one similar to the bosses that the attack references. (Yellow during the fire charge like Sectonia, red during Dark Mind, dark blue/black for Marx/Magolor.)

But this takes it up a level and A: pretty much confirms it and B: adds Dark Mind to the mix, who was theorized to be a Mirror World Dark Matter. Also, it adds the soul bosses to the relation mix due to just how many references it pulls out 1 for 1. Oh, and the fact that this time it smiles instead of self destructing after the battle. There's something big coming out of that.

I assume that it will be something bigger, and I'm *really* reaching into high amounts of speculation, that this may end up being referenced in Ultimate or that we're getting a playable "good" version of Void Termina for one of the games. Well, basically, whenever Void Termina forms, the outcome of its birth can vary in 2 ways. One outcome is the reincarnation of another Zero like entity if darkness stays within it, or it can reincarnate as apart of the species of Kirby/Meta Knight/Galacta Knight. So basically, in history of Kirby, there were about 3 Voids, One for the forming of Kirby, another for Meta Knight and one Zero. With Meta Knight being a balance of light and darkness.

Gray Grey Well, that’s not exactly true. Ancients recorded Void’s power, and he was described as being like a star. He’s also stated to exist simultaneously in all universes and realities at once, which doesn’t fit with Meta Knight and Kirby having alternate universe counterparts. Void is very similar to Ymir from Norse mythology, as the progenitor of all existence and “father” of all the different intelligent races, being Kirbs and Dark Matter.

So basically, Void Termina is like a Cacoon for the Soul that lies within it. Whenever Void forms in the stars, there are varied outcomes to it's completion. If the Void is filled with positive/happy feelings of love, it becomes a paragon of happiness and Heroism as a resuly. If filled with both positive and negative energies and emotions. It becomes a civil being with a concept of both good and evil in its mind. And when filled with pure darkness, it becomes a menace of pure darkness and unfeeling with the power to possess anything in the known universe. This particular dude was on the verge of becoming another Zero, but was safely thwarted and converted. But Void Termina will still be out there. Always ready to be formed again.

I'd think the three forms represents the 2-3 types it could've been: Void Termina (inner) represents fully corrupted, Void Soul represents the form way back when it was summoned to prevent a catastrophe, and Void represents either the pure or untouched form...
