Actually, Zero isn't entirely dead so they might. In Kirby Canvas Curse, the original Japanese version said that it was Zero who brought Drawcia back to life in exchange that she resurrects him. Her second form when she is turned into that multicolored blob was Zero trying to resurrect itself through her. As for the fight, it was probably Dark Dedede mirroring abilities that has happened to Dedede in the past (his stomach was a mouth instead of an eye). Maybe that is what a mirror version of Dark Matter looks like (one could even say that Dark Mind from Amazing Mirror was a mirror version of Zero). Just a thought
