Nice video to refresh your knowledge of using all the tools. I just finished the mopping of my hard floor with the floor kit. Nice and clean again. The parts are drying before stalling them. I cleaned and dry the Kirby also recommended in one of your videos. The lead is always draped over my shoulder instead of holding it in my hands. The American guy who demonstrated the G4 in 1996 said it is the best way for it. From that day it’s in my system.

When I had two storey house, I used to keep Sentria down stairs and G4 upstairs. Made life easier for my partner . Can’t fault the quality and reliability of a kirby . My G4 is 30yrs old now , it was the 1st Kirby I bought new after my parents had Heritage II as I was growing up .

I use to sell the G3s door to door, made some good money. If you are not sold on the Kirby at that bed/mattress demo, you probably dont care about living in dirt. Seriously, I had people puke from what they saw come out of their mattress. They bought it right then and there. If people used their kirby for one thing, it should be on your bed. The amount of dead skin and crap that comes out of mattress is mind blowing. You will pull literally pounds of dead skin and other nasty things out, and your bed will feel a lot better, less lumpy. I bought my G3 as a dealer back in 93ish, it still works great. A few years ago, I picked up a almost brand new G5 at a yard sale for 25$. The person who owned it didnt know how to work it properly and just left in the closet in pieces, it was the whole package, shampooer and every attachment. I felt like I was ripping them off, but screw it, I got a nice machine. About a two years ago, saw someone was throwing out a Heritage II, fully rebuild in mint condition, all the attachments, all in new boxes. I picked that up with a big smile on my face. If people only knew how well these machines work and how to use them properly, they would cherish them like gold. People see the price for these machines and they think that is way too much for a vacuum, I cant afford it, it isnt worth it, bla bla bla. Then they will go to walmart, by a POS for 300 bucks and it will break in two years, then buy another one and it will break. then they will rent a carpet shampooer for a 100 buck a weekend and ruin their rugs and then buy another POS vacuum thinking that will help. In ten years people will spend well over 3000 dollars on cheap vacuums, rug cleaners, carpet fresheners or even on new carpets. All that could be avoided if they just spent the money on a Kirby, learned how to use it properly and kept good care of it. If you buy a Kirby, it should be the last vacuum and home care cleaning machine you will ever by. They last a lifetime and they are worth every penny.

I used to sell the G3 in 1991 when they 1st launched , got the job after my mom had her heritage 2 serviced . I saved up and bought a G4 when they came out in 1994 . Still use it weekly . Our carpets were still like new in Uk after 7yrs. Been in our house here in Aus since 2016 and only used Kirby . Still as new as the day we had them fitted. I’d recommend Kirby to anyone who appreciate quality, reliability and a clean home . I too have picked up so many kirbys that owners don’t know how to use . Thanks for awesome comment and support of my channel really appreciated 👍🔔

Thank you. Your comment makes me feel so much better about my purchase. Last year when my mom closed on her house she immediately was bombarded with sales people. One was a lady selling a Kirby. I bought it to help her out. I honestly thought a vacuum/shampoo machine from Walmart would have been just as good and cheaper but now I see that's not the case. My only issue is I really don't know how to use the machine. That's why I watched this video.

I feel bad for you. A good dealer shouldnt leave your home unless you are totally sure how everything works and how to put it all together. They should be making you do it few times and encouraging you to ask as many question as you can. After all, they are making about 400-500 dollars a sale. I use to actually show people how to do it with my eyes closed with one hand. If you have a kirby dealership in your city, call them and ask them to send a kirby dealer to your house to show you how to work it. Most dealers would be happy to send you a dealer to show you. Or, they would ask you to come in the office and they will show you on one of their machines. The last thing a dealer wants is a call back for a pick up because the person doesnt want it any more because they cant use it, and a dealership doesnt want you telling people it is junk and too hard to figure out.

I do understand what you mean by "needing an engineering degree," but what the Kirby requires is mechanical aptitude. If you took your toys apart to see how they worked as a child, you are probably ready for a Kirby. :)

Thank you so much for your amazing video! I remember my grandma had a Kirby and loved it and it lasted her well over a decade with bi-weekly use. I’ve been casually looking for one and was thrilled to find one in like-new condition at a yard sale with all the attachments. Thanks to your videos I was able to change the belt and learn how to use my new baby to its fullest extent. Thank you so much and your videos are so helpful and informative!! Keep up the great work and I’m now a happy subscriber :-)

I am very well versed in how to use Kirby tools but this was still good to watch. In my opinion the shampooer is kinda useless to me since it actually does not suck any of the water up. I have an actual water carpet extractor that I think is a lot better. I think the shampooer is more of a carpet freshener than a deep cleaner. But all the other tools I think are pretty nice. I love the hard floor nozzle it works great in my kitchen, and the dusting brush is my absolute favorite one I use it all the time. The spray gun I think is a neat idea, as you can spray shampoo, water plants, and even paint with it. All in all, I think Kirbys have a good attachment set. Although I think the Zippbrush could use an update, as it has been the same since they introduced it. Also when I store my Kirbys I actually disconnect the belt from the shaft as even that can stretch it if you don't use it for a long time.

ugh, people dont understand how the shampooer works. You see, the deep cleaning is done with the vacuum. The only way to get all the dirt, or most of the dirt is to get it out when it is dry. The vacuum upright sucks up all the heavy dirt, the shampooer is use to clean the carpet fibers so they dont matt up and stick together. When you use the kirby shampooer, your carpet shouldn't be that wet, you should be able feel down to the bottom of the carpet and it should feel dry, only the fibers of the carpet should be wet. The worst thing for a carpet, is a steam cleaner / water extractor method. When people use those, they spray with a jet of hot, soapy water. It squirts the water in, pushing all the dirt deep into the carpet matting and into the sponge under pad. The water cleans on the way down, but when you suck it out, you are reversing the process, you are sucking the dirty water up to where it was just cleaned. Yes, the water looks really dirty, and people keep sucking it up, and some will put more of that hot soapy water in really stained areas and push all the dirt into the bottom and stuck it all up and see more dirty water. All the while they are pushing the heavy sands and stains, molds and mildews that have built up to the bottom of carpet, into the under pad and into the wood. Then they look at all the dirty water that come out and think they did a good job. But they forget one important thing, their carpet is still wet, the under padding is still wet, the floor underneath is wet. And they forget to ask themselves, if all the water you sucked out is dirty and disgusting, how is it possible for all the water left in the carpet, the padding and on the floor be clean? How are all the fibers of the rug clean when you sucked out all that dirty water from the bottom to top? In many cases, it takes many hours to dry, allowing all the mold, mildew and dirt to work its way into the fibers of the carpet and cause all kinds of health issues later. With the Kirby shampooer, it is using a dry foam technique. you put one or two passes of the foam on, it slowly attaches to the fibers of the carpet, breaks the surface tension of the dirt and suspends in there until you go over the carpet again but this time without foam. You go back and forth in different directions and the bristles of the shampooer will pull off all that suspended dirt and will clean the carpet fibers. Then, once the carpet is fully dry, you suck out whatever dirt was left behind with the upright because the dirt is no longer sticking to the carpet fibers. extraction

On extrractors--You do have to know how to properly use them. Its really a professional cleaning tool-not to be used by the casual householder.A proper extractor is the gas or diesel powered extractor. These are more powerful than the portable home machines. The engine of these truckmount units provides the heat, pressure and vacuum. The diesel or gas motor powers a larger suction pump than portable home units have.Has like 6 times the suction and airflow. The engine heats the solution in 3 ways-from the engine exhaust manifold, engine water cooling, and the vacuum pump can also be cooled from the water solution. If the system is properly used the carpet is just barely damp. The operator knows just how much cleaning solution to pump to the flooring.

Berkshire sold Kirby to Right Lane Industries, an industrial holding company that seeks to acquire US-based manufacturing and industrial-services companies, invest in them, and hold them permanently. That strategy chimes with Berkshire's promise of a "forever home" for the businesses it buys.

You can adjust the Playback Speed by tapping on the 3 dots in the upper right corner of the screen. You could try one choice above “Normal” speed, which is .75 playback speed. I have found changing playback speed very helpful. For people who talk really slow or have lots of pauses I speed up the playback to 1.25, sometimes 1.5. Give it a try!
