Join Kirby Allison as we explore the special and unique house style of Henry Poole. The Oldest Bespoke Suit Maker On Savile Row in London. Henry Poole & Co Tailors is known for being one of the oldest and the original tailors on Savile Row, arguably the most famous tailoring street in the world.
Kirby is joined by Simon Cundey, a 7th generation owner of Henry Poole, who leads him on a tour through the Savile Row shop while explaining their unique house style.
Generations of the Poole family have been proudly serving their customers since James Poole started stitching military uniforms during the Napoleonic Wars. His son, Henry Poole, is still seen as the founding figure of Savile Row around 200 years ago and they continue to offer a bespoke service, which represents everything fine British tailoring is about.

i like this sort of content. i would point out that the audio was a bit off. maybe the microphone should be closer to the person you interview. it would be a shame to do all this way and make a full and interesting interview just to find out that the sound levels are not balanced at all. and could you do more videos about made to measure and maybe compare it to bespoke, as i would like to learn more where can i find a made to measure suit that could compete honorably against a bespoke suit in terms of details, fit and quality. keep up and good luck.

I would like to ask you a question if I may please. I see that you often put your hands in your pockets. I would have thought you of all people would be strongly against this practice. In today's world, is it acceptable? I know behaviour is different in all countries. I do it myself and find it natural and a comfort. In England when I was at school, I was always told to take my hands out of my pockets by teachers.

@Bob Harris Thank you very much for another reply. I beg to differ. His behaviour had given many an example to show he is clearly not a gentleman and certainly not a role model for couth behaviour. The queen, is a good example of a lady but none of her other family.

I think it’s common in the United States. I would personally say keep hands out of pockets is more respectful. I hold mine behind my back in conversation.

@@thomasbailey4139 Yes, I feel behind your back is respectful and refined. Even in front of you too. I just feel puting your hand in your pockets in an uncouth and coarse look, although I do it myself.
