I’m a US Marine. Every day I would wake early to run to get stronger. At least that’s what I told myself. Eventually, the day came I had to leave to train. That was when I realized I was hurting. I felt terrible about the people I had hurt up to that point. It was never anyone’s fault but mine. Not my parents, friends, co workers. I was selfish. I thought I could make up for it by joining the military but the minute I left my mother to get on the shuttle, I knew I wouldn’t make it through if I did it just for sorries. So I did it for more. I did it to show my mom I did care. I always had. I did it to show my dad that I did listen to him, even when I just wanted him gone. That it was worth it. I did it to show my brother that I wasn’t the best role model but I would be better. To be the brother I should have been a long time ago. And finally for me. To show myself I may have done bad things. I may have been a terrible person. But that I could change. That I could become better and come to peace with what I’ve done. That’s what humanity is. To not be perfect but to strive to be better for those around you and for yourself. Zero is all of us. All of us who want to stop running and just find peace. To those of us who want prove to ourselves and others that we don’t have to be trapped by our past.

Not gonna lie, this is the first time a video game ever made me tear up. I found this game pretty recently when I wasn’t feeling too well, and I’m so glad I did, because this game brought and still does bring me so much joy. The soundtrack is amazing, the gameplay is addictive, and the story is so emotional, especially in parts like this. I’m already on my third play through and I’m still not bored. I’m just so glad I found this game, especially in a time in the world like this. Sometimes it’s important to step back from all the chaos and drama of the world so you can enjoy a masterpiece like. Thanks Katana Zero.

The thing is, I haven't even played the game yet, but the feelings conveyed in the soundtrack tell the story. The soundtrack accompanies me through the day at work currently. As a standalone, it already is a masterpiece.

Honestly, the final moments of the game where your landlord and the police tell you that there is no little girl living in the building hit me like a truck. I know there is lots of interpretations for wether the girl is real or not, but I think she was only a hallucination. And thats why the scenes with her are so brutal in retrospect: They arent you spending time with your neighbour, but rather Zero‘s twisted mind trying to justify his unspeakable crimes against humanity, by clinging onto the last bit of empathy and concience he has, represented by this imaginary girl. When he shows her his millitary badge, he says that it remind him of when he did good things, even though he knows that is not true, since he constantly has flashbacks about the arrocities he commited during the war. This scene on the rooftop represent zero last futile attempts at staying human which ultimately lead nowhere. This game is a true modern masterpiece of video game storytelling. Yes, the tight gameplay was what hooked me eventually, but the story and the way it was told are what I will remember about this game.
@LaGuaridadeChaz3 жыл бұрын
I think that she might be real and her dad lied about living alone. That's why the girl knows that she has to hide under the stairs. That way the landlord could never find her, and her dad could get away with that.

My friend and I got this game because we thought the gameplay trailers were cool. We were sitting in my basement casually playing through it when all of a sudden the cutscenes started getting very involved and my buddy goes “damn this shits like a movie.” And it was it was an experience playing it together and playing it separately on our own time. When suddenly the game isn’t about the gameplay anymore you realize what a gem you’ve found. We are both music lovers, and are unfortunately leaving for different colleges in few weeks. We’ve known each other for over 10 years which in an 18 year olds head seems like forever. This song came on in the car while we had the soundtrack on shuffle play and we kinda just stopped talking and stared out the window. So much was said in that silence. Katana zero sits at number two in my all time favorite games. The gameplay is tight. The story makes me go into an existential crisis every time I play it. But the music… the music makes this game what it really is. The music is right where it needs to be. Bouncing when you’re running through a mission, the nocturne in the therapist office feels slightly sinister, and then this one and the blue room drive home the emotion of the game. This game is a movie from beginning to end, and it would be nowhere near that without these incredible works. Because after all what is a movie without an amazing soundtrack.

What hits like a series of trucks is when you replay the whole game and reinterpret ALL of their scenes together, a la Fight Club. When he chucks his medal away? It's because he's "found a new reason," to think of himself as having done good. The medal was never real. But neither was the girl. The scenes hit so much darker and sadder when you realize he is by himself, renting samurai video tapes but imagining explaining to his neighbor that they can get a cartoon NEXT time. Eating the protein paste that is all he has to eat, but pretending the kid is hungry and explaining that they need to eat somnething. You can let the kid see V's videotape, which was probably given to him directly, or you can tell her to get lost and spare her the trauma of watching him execute your other neighbors. It's just a matter of whether Zero remembers that the girl in his delusions is a child who shouldn't see the real videotape another killer left for him. When he wakes up alone and tells the kid she can use his home to stay safe from drug addicts, eat his food and watch television, he is rationalizing his lonely, empty home as a place that could protect a kid, if his life were very different. These 10 days occupy a time in Zero's life (probably near the end) when his addiction was getting really bad, his delusions took tragic form, and everything came to a head when he discovered the things about himself that the government was hiding from him. Rather beautifully, both of 2 endings involve him failing his final mission by remembering something about himself and choosing to defy his handlers in some way. When the girl is shown as a captive of Tragedy and Comedy, it is important to remember that she is an extension of himself and so are they. His humanity andh is innocence are captive to the violence and cruelty of his choices, and are hopelessly imperiled if you finish the whole game and learn the truth about him.

This scene hit me, but for a different reason. In the english version, the term ''remind'' is the one used by Zero concerning what he did in the past. But in the french version (which I played), he says ''J'ai d'autres souvenirs, maintenant'', which could translate in ''I have other memories, now''. At the time, I interpreted that while Zero couldn't erase his past, he could reform a link with his buried humanity, portrayed by the little girl. Memories he could now use as a point of reference. Katana Zero is fascinating for some, hard for others. It talks bout harsh feelings, situations and such by just showing it.

Massive spoilers: The saddest part of this scene after beating the game is knowing that Zero doesn’t have any reminders that he’s a good person anymore. The girl was possibly fake (or captured, which is worse since he failed his promise to protect her) and he learned that he burned villages and murdered families during the war so he can’t even depend on himself knowing he “did something good once.” The DLC’s hopefully gonna be the redemption arc of a lifetime cause the base ending puts Zero at rock bottom.

In a lot of ways I can relate him to Guts from Berserk since both of them had it rough all their lives and when they finally get a chance at a better life it gets taken away as fast as it came. Please, I just want to see him escaping with the little girl and maybe the receptionist to the lands of the Crogs or some other place where they can finally be at peace. This and Blue Room are definitely 2 of my favorite pieces of music. Two of my other picks - Voice of No Return, and Deference for Darkness - have this song beat in terms of pure emotional weight. Listening to either of those 2 feels like I’m being stabbed in the heart. There’s something different about Katana Zero’s 2 songs though. Blue Room and Panoramic Feelings are both some damn somber songs, but they aren’t drowning in melancholy. I actually get a sense of hope from these 2 songs. These songs are like looking at all the things that make up life - good, bad, happiness, sorrow - and accepting it all. It’s painful, and it’s life.

This game really got me like this game is one of my top favorite games I played.I play katana zero on the switch and after I completed the story I kid you not I wanted to know more the cliff hanger killed me but I did love the story and the music it touched my heart.see its gameplay and story's like this that really can impact how you feel I believe a good game or story in general should make you get in those feelings that really touch by the heart not saying every game is bad no its not like that at all we just need more games like this one. I just love a good story that really makes me cry or get in my feelings because that meant to me it was deep and well written it that crap that I'm looking for especially if it has action in it.

idk why but this scene reminds me of the scene in cyberpunk where v and johnny are sitting together on the rooftop of vic's clinic even though both scenes have very different tones it's probably the scenery that make me think that way

It really made me feel helpless and sad to see how the girl was in the middle of them, while they were making fun of her. I broke my promise to protect her.

The first time that i view of death was a saddening thing to behold of, to see a life can just be snap away in an instance, just like that before everything beginning to make sense, I've delve and ponder on that first realization says to myself "am i will be like that next?, laying lifeless on the ground without any reassurance of what going to happens?" i. don't know and I'm scare and afraid, that before it all end i don't find any purpose in my death, just fade away into obscurity, forever alone like i was when I'm still alive even if i get surrounded with alot peoples, it was all superficial. genuinely connected to someone, somebody that's profoundly important to me as me to them, someone that i always accept to be around with even until the end knowing it wasn't all to waste. Someone that i can call a beloved friend and mean it with my heart, as life move on atleast i get to know that dying but still live in other heart is probably assuring enough i guess

This song abd blue room are so good. I hope the dlc has great music just like this. Played this game recently and it left such an impact on me. Looking forward to the rest of the story and I hope for some sort of happy ending, even if it feels unlikely.

I'm back with another request! This time it's for the track "Katana ZERO". The best part starts playing at 3:09 but it's practically the end. Can you extend it, please? Just that part, nothing more.

Hm, I think I looped it almost ideal. 🤔 But idk, is it worth to extend non-gamerip version of LudoWic's "Katana ZERO". Btw new extension approaching! Guys, did you hear about Katana ZERO's remixes from channel "Wic Recordings"? I wanna make extended version of one of them. : ] Probably today.

This game was the best I’ve ever played in so long, the soundtrack was euphoric to the mind as I continued to explore every crevasse the game offered. And this song came along, I cried. I cried because this song felt so visceral, so beautiful. I love reflecting and this song felt like what I feel in a song, the soft sadness but flowing along the time. Staring with the sense of nothing, the moments of sorrow and the bitter sweet. And finding out she wasn’t real, oh man it broke me as I strived to help her with small amount of options towards the little girl. Knowing what it truly meant was amazing but sad. I will not raise my expectations for the sequel as it will be ruined, but I will expect the same caliber or even better music.

“I will never be able to give you what you want from me.” Those are the words of the woman I loved. Unfortunately things don’t always go the way we want right? Sometimes I want to give up, I often ask if this life is worth living. I’m still here but idk what my future holds. Regardless of what happens I’m sure it’ll be a happy ending.

There’s a lot of debate about if he’s a good person and if the girl is real. The words I chose throughout the game were those of an addict who wanted desperately to be better. Every scene I selected responses from someone trying to be more. Your story isn’t different because there are story paths or multiple endings. It’s different because of what life you put into the character. The story you needed was there and not in a cheap way. Is the girl real? I literally could not care less. She was real to him.

Its easy to love somebody, up until you have to let them go. Now i have to let go of everything and seek out a new life far away. I miss them already and i havent even left. This is all for me. It just hurts.
