This great lady does not need to justify anything she does, or doesn't do....let alone be criticized. I first came to know of her presence during a in 1979! Would love to have met her.....especially as I now have family in NZ.

I DID get to meet her in 2006 after a recital in Berkeley California with her friend the equally legendary Fredericka Von Stade. She signed my program and called me "love." I about melted.

I was lucky to have seen her in performances from recital to opera, indoor and outdoor concerts all over the world. From Iceland to New Zealand, US and Europe. The most interesting was that she performed in my home town on my birthday. It would not be surprising if it was NYC or LA. A city of less than 200,000.....yes. It was a great experience.
