you were magnificent, and that wig looked spectacular on you. All your hard work really paid off! Speaking as one seamstress to another, the amount of cool thought and sheer blood sweat and tears that went into this is impressive. Congrats on finding a real world application to our love of cosplay. (I do this for May the 4th and October 31st, naturally.)

I am not sure if this will work with dyes but it is tried and true with acrylic paint. To get a nice purple like you were trying for mix magenta with the closest dye you can find in ultramarine blue shade. Great job x

Do you have a video on how to scallop bodices like that?
@KirileeCosplay5 жыл бұрын
I do not, but thank you for the suggestion. There is no major trick to it, just be sure to clip down the seam allowance and clip at the point to almost the sewing line

The ones on the ruffles are rhinestones that are glued on. The sparkles on the bodice are beads :)

This is sooo pretty! I want to convince my mom to make this dress, any tips on the hanging beads at the top of the bodice? And any tips on the skirt? (The petticoat and the overskirt) Also how long did it take you to make the full costume?
@KirileeCosplay4 жыл бұрын
Use strong thread that isn’t prone to snapping when doing the hanging beads. It took about 100 hours of labour time- a lot of which was the beading.

How did you figure out how long your boning had to be? I've been having issues with it. I'm using steel spiral and normal straight steel boning how much of either do I need? I'm using the pattern to make a lace up corset. Please help me.
@KirileeCosplay5 жыл бұрын
An easy way to start is follow your bodice's seams for placement. Measure the length along the seams, take off your seam allowance from the top and the bottom, and then take off about another 2 - 2.5cm. That generally works I've found :) I hope that helps
