Why do they look like they they aren't really happy, especially him. Not once in this entire interview does he look at her when she speaks or offers even a hint of a smile or visibly shows interest in what shes saying ( such a serious man). His eyes wander all over the place, but refuse to acknowledge her and he comes across to me to be either annoyed or unhappy with something or distant and rather cold toward his partner. As dancers they ere individually great and I do respect their skills, but I just don't sense any real warmth between them and it's largely because of his body language and demeanor which is no different on the floor or off it. I wonder if Kirill realises or understands how he projects to the viewer. To me its not pleasant. Comparing this to the interview with Konstatin and Dominica who are a young up and coming amateur couple the difference in the way they interact with each other and with the interviewer is day and night.

I agree 100% with your comment. Kirill may be a serious man, but he's also coming across as being very detached from his partnership with Polina. I've always wondered why he is so competitive towards her. Jealousy? I don't know. Maybe he really loves her and acting as though she doesn't exist is easier for him. Regardless, they don't look very pleased. The negative energy from Kirill is heavy. If he would compete WITH Polina, instead of against her, it would be so much easier for him and their partnership. But alas, they are no longer together? I do hope her new partner treats her with the respect and dignity she deserves.

@@cocokingsolver3284 I just wrote what I felt, but obviously there was underlying issues, because they split soon after this interview. I heard that Polina had no clue about kirills intentions and he wasn't terribly considerate to Polina in the way he severed the partnership either, but she remained poised and dignified in the way she dealt with it. To me I get the feeling he knew already what was on the cards, that's why he's so visibly absent and uncomfortable. Now I'm really torn though because he's partnered up with Viktoria Karchenko, who i just adore in every way but I don,t think much of him and this interview went along way to forming that opinion. I Hope I will warm to them as a partnership, but I'll want to see a very different Kirill for that to happen. Polina is a beautiful dancer and from what I've heard a beautiful person and yes she deserves far better than that abysmal treatment she got from him here and on the dance floor.

@@joetesta8754 it really makes me curious to know why he split with Polina. And I do like Viktoria but her dancing is not quite as impressive as Polina's. Maybe Kirill felt like threatened by Polina's success. Why is Polina not pro yet? Or is she?

@@cocokingsolver3284 When I watch Kirill dance I am left in awe of what he can do technically and athletically, but to me he looks like he dances not for the love of dance, but rather for a result. Winning and being No1 is what it's all about for him. He said as much himself in another interview I saw. Their results stagnated over the past year or two and I wonder if that's not the reason he sought a different partner, because he felt Polina wasn't the partner to get him to where he feels he belongs and thats No1. If that is what was behind his decision I think he absolutely wrong. Polina has world champion written all over her, but she needs a man who will let her shine not diminish her by competing with her and over dancing as if he can win on his own. Any way they are no longer and I will be very much looking forward to see what happens with them both in the coming years. Time will tel if severing this partnership was right or not. Polina is Pro, otherwise you can't dance in professional events. Also Viktoria is still an amateur, (although she will need to officially turn professional to dance with Kirill), but an very talented one and she still has some development to do to stack up with those super girls like polina at the very top. But she certainly has what it takes to do it. Cant wait to see what they all bring onto the floor once the dancesport resumes in full swing again.
