I didn’t think Vik looked completely comfortable with this routine. Maybe not her cup of tea. This seemed way more about him than her.

This is Victoria FIERCE and TOP CONFIDENT. She is stealing the show from Kirill, and Kirlll smiles and likes it. Michael Jackson has got a fierce girl friend !! This is why this is a good show.

H. C It's obvious they are working on aspects of this routine which is pleasing and yes Viktoria is more involved here, but I dont think she's even close to stealing anything from Kirrill. He is still too much the show pony an Iv'e seen more than enough of his flamboyant antics. I dont know if its Viktoria or Kirill causing it ( likely a bit of both), but I feel she is still too reserved and timid in comparison to him. Their individual style dont complement each other well in this routine imo. They might want to consider including a section where Vik does a solo and lets us see a really dynamic show girl rather than only the exquisite dancer.she is. I have seen many ballroom dancers do M.J routines and I cant say any have ever captivated and left me satisfied. This one included.

@@joetesta8754 I agree about Vika. It is difficult for any girl to fully express herself next to Kirill. It seems to me that it is very unprofitable for every dancer to do Michael Jackson routine, because there will always be a comparison with M.J, and it is always not in favor of the dancer. And not even because dancing itself is better or worse. And just M.J is unique, he is the only one. And any dance to M.J music will automatically be perceived as a pale copy

It is only a natural human reaction to compare when anyone goes out on a very thin limb and tries to cover a classic song or a dancer or anything created by an acclaimed master of their craft. ,Pale, mediocre interpretations are never received well by the greater majority. I think back at the solo entry Slavik did to the beginning of Bamboleo routine. Over two minutes without music performing an interpretation of a male flamenco dancer and he left us in awe of his skills. I cant think of a better male solo opening to a routine ever. That's because it showed how much time he spent developing proper technique so that it looked authentic and up to standard and not some flawed, inadequate imitation. Ballroom dancers in general should stay right away from doing M.j interpretations as they are too bound up in ballroom technique that works against them and rarely do they look anything but awkward if not completely silly and substandard..

@@Dancesportonline Where is the JIVE SHOW ? I am sure a different show is in the making. Kirill and Vika have always been specialists in jive with other partners. It´s their dance. Here's my guess: HAPPY BIRTHDAY JIVE TO KIRILL. A team of girls coming in, singing Happy birthday, with Kirill lying in bed (brought out on the floor), and giving him a big cake and a big Vodka and tons of kisses. Then suddenly the REAL surprise comes, when Vika enters the floor starting a whirlwind solo that does not stop until the end, like the fantastic lady solo by Natalia June 1, dancing with a non-dancing Manuel. That was authentic, and, yes, Vika gives him (Kirill) another melody than Michael Jackson. For a change.
