I heard he stated he definitely plans to come to the NHL in the future, and last I checked the Wild STILL hold his rights in the NHL! The NHL still remains the wealthiest hockey league on earth with the best stars on ice, and any hockey player worth his salt will want to play for a chance to have his name on the Stanley Cup! Kirill already got the Olympic Gold, so I assume he will gun for a KHL Gagarin Cup and an IIHF World Championship before he moves across the pond in 2020!
