@@Kidoroki my guess is higher middle class like bakugo. no mega or super rich like momo and ida, or rich like shoto but just enough that your flush with cash and can have a vary good living with the benefit of some of the rich kid stuff but not an obseen amount that someone like momo or ida have and it would be a strugle to get what shoto has. in other words he doesn't live in a mansion, but he dos live in a nice apartment/neighborhood and his parents have nice and comfortable jobs probably a lawyer, doctor, or general contractor. something that pays a lot but not thru the roof a lot and to be honest i would not be surprised if their are others in the class in the same rank as him or close to it. they do go to a magnet school after all so every class and race (if they weren't in mainland japan, plus no where near hokido (European, Han Chinese, Mongolian) or tushima (oceanic, philopino, Mongolian)) is mixed into that class, so unless you went to their house or your told you would not really know. thats the funny thing about higher middle class your technikaly rich, but your not rich your just vary well off.

Well I can't help but think a lot of class 1a has to be at least upper middle class. Ochaco is struggling but like even the kids that aren't explicitly stated to be in the rich/famous club we have Deku with (whether he saved for it or not) at least hundreds of dollars worth of all might merch if we assume that action figures and posters share their price with irl that's anywhere from 10-60 depending on the piece, a lot of which he had as a kid but he just keeps adding to it. We have Jirou whose family owns at least one of almost all kinds of instruments (which are at least a few hundred a piece new even my trumpet was like 800 for a cheaper one) if they were used maybe half that. Denki decks himself out in full leather and there is not a single leather anything even a lot of faux leather that you're going to find for under 10-20 I have to kinda imagine most of the class is camping out in the zone of "if I asked for a toy or a game as a kid I got it" aside of maybe Bakugou and Todoroki cause Bakugou and his mom argue a lot, and Endeavore didn't believe in letting Shoto have fun, and then... poor Ochako who is the odd duck out there.Like only her and Aizawa that we're certain of know the struggle of kinda making it on your own with nothing

Also, with the school thing - if we think Bakugo is rich (which I do), we should also consider that Bakugo was going to Aldera middle school, which isn't portrayed as being, well... very well-off. From what we see of Bakugo's parents, they would DEFINITLEY send him to the best school possible, and if Aldera was the best school, then maybe tuition costs more in the BNHA universe (due to it being in the far future, or in Mustafu, or whatever). Actually, it would make sense that tuition would cost more, because teachers have to deal with superpowered kids, so they should be payed more (if this was a perfect world, which we know it isn't, but still). It actually makes sense that tuition costs a lot more in the BNHA universe, which also might affect the education of children, which could be another reason Japan appears to be practically overrun with organised crime. Less education = more criminal activity, at least in a lot of cases. Plus, if tuition is more expensive, it might make smaller, cheaper schools in low-socioeconomic areas that provide a low-quality education given by less qualified teachers. In these schools, it is more likely that discrimination runs rampant (including bullying like Izuku endured, due to less strict anti-bullying policies), which gives people more reason to hate society from a young age. These places would practically be villain factories, churning out misunderstood kids with quirks deemed 'undesirable', 'ugly' or 'villainous' who fall between the cracks in the system. This is where all the weaker, 'grunt' villains and small-time criminals that pro-heroes make a living putting behind bars go. And of course, it suits the HPSC to have more of these, keeping the public reliant on heroes to be safe. And since the HPSC has a lot of sway with the government (they could literally order the heroes to pull out or revolt against the army and everyone would be powerless to stop them), it wouldn't be too much of a push to tweak the education system a little so this keeps happening. It creates a cycle of discrimination that creates villains that lets the HPSC stay in power, both with the government and with citizen's hearts and minds. Just think - if a hero went up to a small child and told them they could help the heroes by telling them a little bit of information (about whatever), wouldn't the kid tell them everything? Izuku certainly would have, as a young child. The HPSC is in complete control of everything in the BNHA system, and it even presents itself in the f*cking school system. It's... interesting how that all works. I didn't intend on going on a rant, but the ideas just kept coming. DAMN I'm gonna copy paste that into a word document so I can explain that to a friend later. Basically, what I was TRYING to say was, Kirishima could be even MORE rich because tuition could easily cost a lot more in the BNAH universe.

My rolling theory is that Kirishima is actually Crimson Riot's son, and that Crimson Riot died when he was just a baby. Bakugo is not rich tho ; If you simply go by his house you will get the feeling that he is loaded , but think about it ; if he were rich he would have attended a private school like Kirishima , Iida or Ashido. If you go by his house ; it is on loan (as confirmed by his dad in 205). Deku would technically be richer than Bakugo since his dad "works" abroad (probably in the US) so the USD to Yen conversion factor really pays off...

Uh... There is actually another explanation for Kiri's Parents being able to afford a "private" middle school and high school without him being anywhere close to rich. The dad might be a Chichioya Fuzai. Or in other words an office worker who works almost all of his waking hours at a salary job, comes home after his wife and child have gone to bed if he leaves work at all, and basically functions as the troll that leaves money in the bank account in exchange for a place to sleep and one meal a day. The stated 'happy' outcome of that lifestyle is... "An overseas honeymoon, children being able to go to a private school, and the wife being able to go on a lunch social with her friends about once a month." Anyway I was posting that Kirishima's house in the manga is actually very typical of a double storeys that can be found in all over Asia - a shophouse which is both commercial and residential. Yes, it can be very expensive compared to normal houses and mind that many Japanese nowadays live in apartments. The first floor is used to run a small business such as a coffee shop, mini mart, barbershop or hair salon, a fish pet store, and the likes. The top floor is where the family that owns the business lives. So usually the families who own the business also own the property - usually, not necessarily. Thus rental may not be an issue. To support my point, just look at the first floor, it seem to have several metal blinds covering some parts of the walls, blocking the entrances and windows, which may indicate after business hours. So usually families who run such business may do well, have good money if business is good, but not necessarily very rich. Good middle class income to rich, excluding if they evade taxes 🙄. One advantage of growing up in such household in Asia is that the kids get to help around in the store and learn business from their parents after school and at night, they get to do school homeworks and additional studying. Like if Kirishima is that rich, the night binoculars that he bought to save Bakugou wouldn't even impact his monthly allowance that much. He's probably alright and slightly above middle-class but not very rich by East Asia standard.

In Japan public schools aren’t like how they are in the USA. It was just recently that public kindergartens don’t require payment. But it’s still a minority. A huge aspect of why the population is decreasing is because many couples literally cannot afford to pay for elementary, jr high, and high school. It’s also one of the large aspects that cause overwork. And why so many husbands live in essentially motels ( but a bit nicer then US motels), sleep at their offices/business if able while their wife and kids live in shitty ass apartments to be able to pay for their schooling. At least this was the case with each one of my married friends, and friends who refused to have kids. It’s also the reason why so many Japanese families try their hardest to move to the states, and the few other countries with free public educations.
