Being honest here. Neel is my favorite reactor and its NOT CLOSE. Normally i prefer when more than 1 people react to something, like most of roshi's reactions, but neel understands so much about what he watches, his reactions are not only impressive, but also the best around, he commentates what he really thinks even if its something hideous. I could continue on this, but i'd be simping way harder than i should, because thats his role. (Ngl, cour 2 of bleach, there will be some simping)

Yui's whole arc here gets me emotional. The thought of a little girl being alone in a death game is just f'd up, and seeing Asuna and Kirito contemplate the possibilities really drives home the worst likely situations.

Heathcliff really couldn’t deny their request to take a leave of absence from the guild at this point. I mean, Asuna’s assigned bodyguard turned out to be a Laughing Coffin spy who murdered commanding officer Godfrey and attempted to murder sub leader Asuna and Kirito. Not to mention the training mission itself was poorly designed by confiscating every single support item they possessed, leaving them vulnerable to sabotage - especially considering it was a complete waste of time to put Kirito through this, considering he is known to be one of the strongest players in this game and this served as, giving the benefit of the doubt, a poorly planned way of getting Kirito and Kuradeel to bury the hatchet, and worse case scenario a weaker commanding officer trying to put Kirito in his place. By all rights Kirito and Asuna could have left the guild completely and they would have had no right to stop them. Giving them the time off they had requested initially before all of this went down was the least they could do at this point.

@@Kitsuism913You don’t understand Heathcliffe’s character , You see Heathcliffe a.k.a. Akihiko Kayaba possesses the power to end everyone in the game but he doesn’t because that isn’t fair and even though he is evil and cruel , Kayaba is always Fair , Kirito says this in episode 6 , He made SAO so that people could live and fight in a world of his own creation , A world that he had dreamed of as a child , The floating castle was his dream. He doesn’t want to kill everyone in the world because he dreamed of a floating castle with people living in it , So , He needs people to be alive

Its funny how in the last episode they did the deed (evident by Asuna being naked under the covers when she wakes up to Kirito poking her cheek), then some time later they meet Yui who becomes their kid, which Asuna states (regarding her memory loss) has regressed back to a baby.

One of my favorite side stories - one that became LN canon in Vol 22 - happens right before they buy that house. It’s a quest chain based on the Wizard of Oz, and it features best girl Argo… who figured out Kirito and Asuna got married long before they told anyone else. She really isn’t featured enough in this series, which is a primary reason why I can’t wait until Unital Ring is adapted.

i honestly forgot that 4000 people was dead by this point its been so long since i watched season 1 of SAO and i imagine most of them got killed over stupid stuff like trying to fight something just a few levels higher than them because honestly that would probably be what gets me killed "oh if i kill this then my level will increase faster and i save time" when i reality you are probably spending the same time because of your lack of damage compared to its health

It's a parody, they never tried to make it better, it doesn't work when one tries to compare it this way for that reason - like Abridged Asuna becoming racist psychopath is in no way better to original Asuna

If SAO doesn't have interesting characters with "significant emotional depth" - most anime as a media doesn't. But all this is just vague stuff without any particular examples from you.

@@Leuncode Haven't watched any of the more recent SAOA, so I can't comment. But considering Japan's fascination with molestation of underage girls, I doubt SAOA is worse than the original. And yes, the characters in the original SAO are extremely flat and uninteresting, with really stilted "relationships." I have no idea how SAO would win that award over some of the other amazing anime out there. It's like praising Dragon Ball GT or (ugh) _Naruto_ over Fullmetal Alchemist. It just makes no sense.
