This isn’t something mentioned in the anime. But the percentage of fatalities among the beta testers were higher than that of the new players. Meaning before the boss fight on floor one, the newer players were faring better than the previous testers. A lot of the testers lost their lives from being complacent about their knowledge from the beta.

Your comment is true for percentage, but i need to mention that by total number more beginner players died. In episode 2 after defeating Illfang Kirito said that there were 1000 beta testers. And there were above 2000 deaths when Illfang fight happened. So more beginner players died than beta testers. And by this point in game there are 4000 dead players.

​@@jdogzerosilverblade299so humanity, when placed in a very perilous situation where death can come at any time (great plague, tyrannical rulers, war) just stop living their lives, stop hunting for food, stop producing clothing and armor and weapons, stop falling in love and getting married. Do you know how ridiculous you sound? They've been there over 2 years. Even in as bad a situation as it is, normality still sets in and day to day activities occur. People take breaks lest they go insane. Many have given up and live in the towns which are actually safer than real life where crossing a street could be deadly. Showing how people are dealing with this makes a ton of sense. As for your other idiotic claim, is literature (this is derived from light novels) not supposed to depict any type of evil but murder and attempted murder? JoJos has a mother kill her own infant, which is vastly more disturbing than any of these attempted rape scenes. But as an adult, I can understand that the author is making a point and not complain about an evil person doing evil things to others. And there were what, 3 scenes maybe? ALO is assault not rape, and neither is GGO's which is attempted murder. So what, only Alicization? There was a very good literary reason for that scene too, to draw contrast with what was legal in that world versus actually a crime. If you are so sensitive you can't handle adult themes, then there is always My Little Pony or some other kiddie show you can entertain yourself with.

Predicting future comments - all Kirito did in this episode, is to use the laptop with already typed-in login and password of Yui, use search function, archive a folder and copy it onto external drive. Literally Ctrl+F, Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V. No hacking to save Yui at all, just a common sense of average PC user :) Anime for dramatic reasons just chose to show it as some matrix code floating in the air, mainly because the story is written from Asuna's pov and she didn't know what Kirito was doing - thus leaving it for imagination of the animators. And no, Yui's privileges are lower than commands of Kayaba, so Kirito couldn't use the console to log-out the players - otherwise Yui herself would've done it already :)

Yui OP Best Daughter. This episode hit deeeefrent one first watch. I do tend to subconsciously keep myself from figuring some stuff out so I can get the full dramatic effect from media, so I was completely blown away with the revelations in this episode. We get introduced to the politics and social environment of the Town of Beginnings, the Army, young players who would not likely survive trying to play the game,call back to da douche from episode 2, Yui's 2 years in isolation, and her continued existence because Krito grew up a total nerd. It was a blast, and heartwrenching. If only the books had covered this part of the story in wildly deeper ways, I would have O faced to read more about the society and events of SAO. There are some amazing anime daughters, and Yui is pretty high up there for me, especially when you take in all she does theough her time.

Well as for Kayaba (spoiler? maybe?) Kirito says Kayaba, all things considered, is trustworthy and doesnt lie. So if he says everyone will be freed upon game completion then they should all be fine. Yet ultimately its still up to the viewers interpretation until they clear the game.

Once season 4 gets animated Yui pops off big time. So, by the time you're done with season 3 I imagine you won't have to wait long for season 4. As of writing this he is mid gun gale, I believe. So, if anyone is reading this, know we get to see Yui be more like she is in this episode all throughout the Unital Ring arc. It's super hype.

ne of Roselia's guys is using two axes, its like duel wielding but I guessing coz its axes they are slower than swords and he might not have the same skill as Kirito.

I figured that the difference between kirito and the duel axe wielder is that the axe wielder is using a single weapon that is a set of two identical axes. What makes kirito different is that he’s using two unique single handed swords simultaneously pretty much doubling his potential damage output and gives him access to a whole new branch of skills that requires two unique weapons not just a weapon that comes as a set of two that still counts as one weapon.

​@@Y0sh1no5am There's a difference between dual wielding and "Dual wielding" 😅 First is using 2 objects as weapons simultaneously, in general. Second - system designated skill tree that allows to use animation based attacks if have 2 one-handed swords equipped. I explained in more details how the Sword Skills work in comments to episode 9 if you're curios. As for the double axes and Heathcliff... The animation for double axes is anime original, so at the time the episode aired, it may as well have been animators mistake 😅But if we treat it as part of the lore - it's not *the* "Dual Wielding", which most likely wouldn't recognize axes to use it. Probably something less powerful related to one-handed axe skill tree. Heathcliff on another hand - has the first unique Sword Skill in the game - Holy Sword, Kirito being the one to receive the second of 10. The rest are unknown. Overall - it wasn't animated as anything special, but Heathcliff can use his shield as a weapon thanks to his unique skill of which Kirito himself thought that it could be considered form of Dual Wielding too.

He *wasn’t* that bad of a guy, but he always had prick in him - and 2 years of SAO fully manifested that prick in him. Yes, in the early days he was trying to look out for the weaker players, but over time he changed… and like everything else I’m guessing it had to do with whatever it was that happened on Floor 25 - where everything changed. Unfortunately, Floor 25 hasn’t been written yet - only hinted at in various side stories.

@@Ragingknight12 no - what happened as revealed in S2 was a raid against Laughing Coffin, which happened much later (3 months prior to this part of the story). Like I said, Floor 25 hasn’t been officially written yet, but what we do know about it is the floor boss was the first mega-boss of the game (think something along the lines of the floor 75 boss), and the clearing group was not at all prepared for it. Many, many people died trying to fight it, and it shattered the clearing group. The Aincrad Liberation Squad (Kibau’s guild) left the front lines for Floor 1 and reestablished itself as the Aincrad Liberation Force. The Divine Dragon Alliance remained, but became much more secretive and somewhat antagonistic towards other clearers. Out of the remnants of what was left of the clearing group, the Knights of the Blood (Oath) was founded by Heathcliff and others, as it was noted that in its current state the floor clearing was going to stall or even outright fail as a result of what happened on Floor 25. And of course, while not originally written in the LN series but written in the Progressive story, Kirito and Asuna, who had been partying together in their own group since Floor 2, went their separate ways after Floor 25 (and a lot of it might have had to do with what happened on floor 11, where the multi floor quest chain involving the Elves ended badly and Kizmel, an NPC dark Elf whom Asuna and Kirito grew close with, died tragically. With Kizmel’s encouragement, Asuna’s and Kirito’s romance was actually budding that early on, but Kizmel’s death severely impacted their relationship. They remained partners after that, but things were never the same after that). Kirito’s purpose initially for partying with Asuna was he saw in her someone who would be an inspiration to the clearers in the future and wanted to train her to be a key member in s guild in the future, but as time passed and he became more comfortable with Asuna as a partner, he forgot about it, so when Asuna said she wanted to join and be a leader in KoB, Kirito was against it, and they parted on bad terms. Most of this information comes from the canonical side story series Sugary Days, which is basically the story of Kirito’s and Asuna’s first week of marriage after they bought the house, and during this story they reminisce about events that occurred on earlier floors - especially events that have not been officially written yet. If you connect these dots with other dots from other side stories, especially those that provide the foundation for the Ordinal Scald movie, you can get a general idea of significant events that occurred during the Aincrad arc.

Second - you make it sound as if he needed to sit and model the item - no, he simply clicked a button equivalent to creating a folder or archive folder in file manager. Again - school level of PC using. "input her AI into said item which is the most complex thing in that game " so what? It's programming, not magic - she still is contained in a folder that can be located in file manager. Simply Ctrl+F "MHCP..." and system would find it for you. "nstead of releasing everyone from the game" except 1) Kayaba's account's commands outrank Yui's so it's literally impossible. 2) If it was possible - Yui would've done it herself already. 3) even if the command was obvious to use and accessible - what are the chances of incorrectly using it and frying the brains of all 6000 people at once with it? Please, make sense with these claims...

@@curlyxcoco No I just refused to reply to a moron. not a single thing he said was a counter. even if he is correct on all the items and all that it still is total bullshit. he did all of this in under 10 seconds. he physically cannot do all of that in that timeframe. thus he would have to be a super hacker genius that could rival tony stark. he is not. He's just a kid who I'm guessing still hasn't graduated high school and just played games all the time. I very much doubt he spent hours upon hours learning to code and how all of this works in the first place. he also has no clue how they set everything up. he would have to look through a bunch of stuff to find all of the automated programs and all that to make the items. then he has to find her AI code which I fucking doubt they just have it laying out in an un-secure place. to do the crap he did as fast as he did they would have needed to put the item on the desktop part then her AI code file next to it and then a transfer button to his nervegear. so every single thing he mentioned is total bullshit.
