Kirk Franklin has been the most open book gospel artist in history. He speaks my language. Young people, old people, and kids enjoy his art. He's just real. He doesn't shy away from the people. You can judge him, attack him, and he's still him. He keeps the pulse on the people. His catalog of music is legendary!! Kirk stays on my playlist! Smile, reason why i slng, revolution, etc.... his Christmas album is still my favorite on repeat in my home during the session.. I'm waiting for his lifetime achievement. Csn you imagine the voices that will come out to salute him.....another one unc👏

I’m 55 and found out my biological was not my biological with 23 and Me. We did an actual Paternity test and my world has shifted! Kirk, I laughed and I cried and rewinded many times throughout this episode. THANK YOU! You are helping me to stand. The pain of doubt by everyone my entire life came full circle. I am married 34 years with a 26 and 21 yo. (My biological doesn’t have grandkids and always wanted them) True Family! (Let that sit) I just hosted my genuine biological for Thanksgiving and I have no words. He watched videos of my children and engaged with us beautifully. This is a process that is not for the weak. Man did yall feel that? The shift when they started speaking about Kirk’s biological family. I think they might of even forgot they were being recorded. This was beautiful! When men drop and check their egos and allow vulnerability to permeate. Bet they become Life long friends. Kirk spoke freely and honestly about his pain. Which allowed Unc to not chastise or provoke, but lovingly and empathetically encourage. To make a sacred space where he still called him up higher but held space for his pain. I could go on all day about what those kind of convos do not only in us, but to those around us. Thank you for your humanity kings! Thank you for your vulnerable masculinity. I had the pleasure of meeting Kirk while working my part-time job and he was super down to earth and kind. His music really got me through some tough times and I appreciate his ministry and ability to touch the hearts of people. I know he will probably never read this comment but I had a chance to meet him years ago when he visited my church in Nashville, TN. Kirk can PREACHHHH!!!!! If you never had the chance to hear or see Kirk minister to people, you are missing out! Kirk is anointed and truly living in his purpose. Kirk, thank you for reminding me how much GOD loves us! Congratulations to Shannon Sharpe and Kirk Franklin. This interview was amazing! Kirk Franklin is a strong person. Shannon Sharpe is deserving of all God has for him. Also, for Club Shay Shay to Blossom into a TV talk show that's awarded many Emmys for "Oustanding Talk Show". Blessings to both Shannon and Kirk. P.S. The prayer at the end was stellar.

I’ve been a fan of Kirk Franklin since ‘95. When I saw him perform in The New Orleans Superdome. His music kept me from abandoning God as a teenager. When life was going crazy, his albums helped me stay grounded. Even listening to Master P,Eightball & MJG,UGK,Ruff Ryders,Jay Z. Kirk stayed in the mix, when my nights were darkest. Thank you for that

Shannon!!!! I found you during the interview with Mr. Katt Williams and I was slightly impressed. Then I watched the interview with Mon'quie, and I started to like you a little bit. But....this right here, this right here!!!!! I am so in love with you. What did it was when you asked Mr. Kirk Franklin to pray.....that was the cherry on the top. Loving the God in him came through and I thank you. Stay YOU!!!!

I absolutely love this conversation. It's an open, honest, and needed conversation. We all have our flaws and we all need Jesus. I so agree with what he said about how as christians, it's our job to let others know that God has them and loves them. It truly isn't our job to "police" anyone's process. I am grateful for Kirk's honesty and transparency to let the world know that we all struggle with things. Thank you, Shannon, for allowing people to open up and share their truth on your platform. God bless.

Im only 15 mins in, but this is the best description of some of the problems in the church. Taking a personal feeling & trying to force someone to believe your feeling. Most of problems in today's society. I get what Unc was saying about some of the newer gospel artist as it took me a minute to start listening to some of the new gospel artist. I loved the old school gospel artists. But I have definitely heard "Take me to the King," so don't fuss at me😂

He is so right about the limitations within the church and trying to balance that perception with opportunities. I grew up in C.O.G.I.C., and their idea of success is only reserved for the pastor. They believe everyone needs to stay on God's path, struggle, and miss opportunities. As soon. as I was older.....I realized that a relationship with GOD is a personal journey, not what others think it should be.

Shannon's heart about Kirk speaking with his mother is genuine but being in a similar situation as Kirk, sometimes you just have to let relationships go with parents who can't meet you halfway. It hurts but you also have to protect your emotions and not continue to put yourself in that position with that parent to be hurt. Sometimes love from a distance is best until that person can really see the issue. Kirk has a lot of grace for his mother, but he still has to protect his sanity and heart ❤
