And your Irish actually made this a game when it really did look like they were going to be completely embarrassed when it was halfway through the 3rd. That showed resilience and fortitude.
@raveouscarlias447911 күн бұрын
@@AMDG_JMJ Yah. Well, we didn't play well at all besides that first drive in the 1st half, especially on defense. But a lot of that was due to Ohio State being as good as they are. We had to play near perfect to beat Ohio State and didn't do it. Props to them. What a great season of college football. Hopefully next year is as fun as this one was.
@AMDG_JMJ11 күн бұрын
@@raveouscarlias4479Yes, I think the Buckeyes were just really, really good (their loss to Oregon was very close and they probably win that but for that bogus offensive PI call at the end, and they just played so flat against UM). OSU'S defense got a bit sloppy when they were up 31-7 tonight, and the offense started milking thy clock way too soon (preventing them from scoring more like 50 points tonight in a probable rout). So, in other words, I think it's more that OSU was very good than UND was playing poorly (just look what OSU did to Tennessee and Oregon in those first halves). Yet, again, I give credit to UND for not folding psychologically when they easily could have done so (as a Catholic who loves the Virgin Mary and who almost went to UND, but who grew up in Ohio, I had mixed feelings rooting against UND, a Catholic school named after Our Lady, the Virgin Mary, so I'm at least glad that they played tough, turned a potentially embarrassing loss into a hard-fought loss, and did themselves and Our Lady proud!)

Proud to be a Buckeye born and bred for 72 years and I totally get Kirk's reaction as many in Buckeye Nation were doing the same! Kirk has a tough job to be objective while being an impartial alumnus who played! No shame Mr. Herbstreit, many of us had tears and did again watching this!

Kirk and Chris are the best dual in college football commentary. No ego like McAfee who always wants the attention on him. They make us appreciate the game and love their genuine friendship towards each other. It’s just awesome!

Kirk your integrity goes unchallenged. Love you man. Sometimes I shut the sound off on the games because of your objectivity lol.

This is my 3rd championship title in my lifetime. (2002, 2014 and 2024) Even after the Michigan loss,I said we are still in the playoff and win a title! My family didn’t even care about that at that point. So proud to be a Buckeye!

Can’t explain how low it felt right after that loss to Michigan. Didn’t think in a million years this was possible after that. What a climb. LETS GO

OSU and Ryan Day won the National Championship over a team that showed great heart…Notre Dame proved they belonged in this game after all, and my hat is off to them…But my Buckeyes proved a greatness that nobody was going to stop them…It was like a heavyweight fight that had two great fighters but the heavily-favored one took an uppercut and almost got knocked out…but he managed to hang in there, found a way to fight back, won the rest of the rounds and ended up winning big in the final round…beautiful story with a beautiful ending and OSU earned their accolades with grace…😊

In addition, they should have won it all. Most money paid to players combined with most 5 star recruits. I’m more proud of Notre Dame because they have the academic pressure as well.
