@MetalJody19903 жыл бұрын
Until a remaster comes along, the best way to play this game is on a PC. On a specific build of the "Dolphin" GC/Wii emulator, you can play in a really high resolution with a keyboard & mouse like it's a modern-day shooter (WASD to move, mouse to aim & switch weapons, etc.). There's also save states to save your progress anywhere which is really helpful. At some point I'm gonna play hard mode. Should be a blast!

Great video! TimeSplitters 2 and Future Perfect are some of the greatest FPS games of all time, and dare I say, a little better than Halo in my opinion. There's not a better time than now that the franchise should makes a comeback, as I've been waiting years. I still play these games to this day, and I still have a massive blast playing them. You should totally cover the third game if you haven't yet. Even though TimeSplitters 2 has somethings I like about it more than Future Perfect, I still really love Future Perfect just as much as TimeSplitters 2. They are truly games ahead of their time.

Timesplitters lives in my heart forever. Its surreal to me to think how old it is now. I thought as a kid that time period would last forever. The second game is my favourite and I still listen to its music today. Funny story is me and my friend completed the last mission on hard with 1 second to go. I get so sad thinking about it now, just how lost in time this is.

I think there's still some life left in Killzone, I hope we see a return for it soon. Same with TS too of course.
@Gruntvc3 жыл бұрын
@KIRK COLLECTS, The best ways to continue Killzone would either be to go back and remake the 1st PS2 game or give the fans what they really wanted. A full game from the perspective of the Helghast. The original PS2 Killzone was ambitious, but it was definitely held back by the technology compared to Halo on Xbox. It could use a remake that makes it more like Killzone 2 the best one of the franchise.

This makes me miss the days when splitscreen multiplayer was a thing in FPS games. These guys were the masters of it. And I feel like they're responsible for inventing a lot of game modes, TS2 was like a torrent of inventive game modes: thief, virus, shrink etc. TS1 also had multiplayer zombie survival years before COD did it.
@jonreededworthy75183 жыл бұрын
The fact that each of the 10 story levels has its own unique art design, soundtrack, weapons, and NPCs still really impresses me nearly 20 years later. The devs put a staggering amount of thought and effort into the aesthetics of this game that most modern games don't even bother with, let alone back in 2002.
@civilwarfare1013 жыл бұрын
Honestly, if they would make a remaster the way you proposed, I would enjoy this game WAY more. I do think the game has it's qualities but a lot of things just annoy me about it now. I do like Timespiltters 3 though. I did wish my cousin and I played this game together. He is a huge Goldeneye fanboy and I didn't discover that until later.

"It's easy to see Timesplitters slowly being lost to history" I see what you did there.... Good writing again. For me, a few more minutes on the story would have been nice. I know the single player was fantastic because of the gameplay, levels and music but since you focused so much on it, I would like a brief overview of the entire story like you did in Control. Thanks for the video again!

I enjoyed this game SOOOO much when it came out. It was one of the few games carrying on Goldeneye's mission-based structure of progression and achievement. Halo kind of overshadowed everything though. I think even something like Metroid Prime influenced FPSs more. The arcade challenges were fun but became so crazy hard later as to prove impossible.

It might happen for the whole trilogy one day as EA/Crytek no longer owns/hordes the franchise. I do think Timesplitters 3 Future Perfect has the best campaign, but man does T2's Siberia Dam level give me so much nostalgia lol. We could use a new Soldier of Fortune backed by today's tech too. Timesplitters 2 and Timesplitters: Future Perfect both need a remaster. So long as the they keep the comically goofy art direction and exaggerated proportions on some of the characters. Honestly if they just revamped the aiming in Timesplitters 2 especially, I'd be happy...or the ideas the video brought up just after I made the comment I those ideas. My only thing is I don't want them to touch the graphics at all really. Tune them a little bit, sure if done sparingly. But I don't want them to redesign anything it's part of the charm of these games. Edit: And for those curious, if you have an Xbox both of these games are backwards compatible and were available for purchase on the store.

I have mixed feelings about Timesplitters 2 First of all it seems that TS2 seem to forgot that Perfect dark exists and only inspires to be Goldeneye(there is still no cursor without aiming your aiming isn't steady) While i like the concept of TS2 i think that the gameplay is a mix bag main problem is that you seem to always take unavoidable damage the ai seem to be worse than GE And the game often feel like a fanmod of GE although the multiplayer is better than GE
