I suspect Acura wont get hybrids (at least this generation of hybrid). But that the HRV will for MY2026, since it has a hybrid elsewhere in the world (as the Honda ZRV) with a retuned version of the Civic's 2.0L 2-motor hybrid. Acura will probably get the e-rear axel for SH-AWD that Honda is currently developing and a version of the 0 Series BEVs

@@mrgurulittle7000 genesis has the gv60 which (despite being electric) is marketed as their entry-level, subcompact model, jaguar had the e-pace (which admittedly wasnt a great product) until they stopped making cars entirely this year, land rover makes the range rover evoque as their subcompact/entry-level crossover, infiniti tried competing with the qx30 but failed as theyve done with every product in the last 10-15 years, cadillac has the xt4, the lincoln corsair is somewhere between subcompact/compact but is lincolns entry level model regardless, volvo has the xc40 which is arguably best in class. basically all of them make (or have tried to make but failed) a subcompact offering.

Great scoop, and I guess THIS was the surprise you mentioned a couple weeks ago. This ADX corrects a lot of the things I felt I didn't like or were missing from the HRV. But it will be interesting to see whether the HRV's exterior design shows through when I see one in person. Can't wait until you drive one.

As a 2016 HRV owner and now an owner of a 22 Civic HB SPT 6MT, I think this is a great effort. Would love to have seen a hybrid version with AWD or a 6MT option on the A-Spec that was also AWD. I look forward to hearing about how it drives. I think from a features perspective, I think it's 99% of what I would want. Did they publish the weight? Will it use 87 octane? Thanks as always.

Acura supposedly got burned with the RLX and MDX Sport Hybrid SH-AWD models. They sold poorly. Acura was selling those when gas was cheap and the cost of them were in par with its European competitors so they were bypassed by consumers.

As a Honda/Acura fan myself, I do agree. Acura is more about giving the value for those looking for a bit more premium features. Even the base model is extremely well-eqipped and still looks quite luxurious inside. It’s not meant to be a German luxury car, but that’s not the point of Acura as a brand. It’s about providing buyers with well-equipped vehicles that are more premium than your typical Honda vehicle. I mean Acura has done that for years, so I’m happy. I’d say Acura is more of a premium brand than a luxury brand.

Plus this is an entry level car, so I don’t think people will care if it has a CVT or if it’s the most luxurious. It’s going to be efficient, practical, has lots of standard equipment for their first premium car, and easy to use for the target audience. If you have more money, then yeah, buy the TLX, MDX, RDX, which are definitely the real Acuras, but for those just looking for a premium entry level car, this ADX and even the Integra will give that to you.

I found a 2024 Mazda CX30 Turbo AWD for 29 grand online, this will be mid 30$ grand, looks the same as the HRV which it obviously shares I can’t justify its price and performance I don’t see value, that Mazdas interior is a far cry better, the Mazda styling as well, true the HRV clone may have a bigger interior, but Acura does not really seam to be worth a premium cost over Honda

Ok, it’s based on the same platform as the Acura Integra and Honda HR-V (the side profile looks a lot like the HR-V) and will share the Integra’s 1.5 I4 turbo, so, when can we expect the ADX Type S model, if it does happen, I’m guessing a DCT, it will sell, but probably at the expense of the Integra, pricing will be everything, to see if the ADX and Integra can coexist

It’s ok. I think if you’re someone wanting an entry level SUV and the HRV doesn’t have all of the features you want, than this is an easy home run. My only issue is that the design doesn’t feel special. The Integra, TLX, RDX, MDX and ZDX all feel special to me. Idk 🤷🏽‍♂️

@@Blank00Honda basically blew the timing of those vehicles. If MDX Sport Hybrid SH-AWD and the NSX were released today, they would be selling exceptionally well. Instead Acura decided to sell them when gas was cheap and for the NSX, Ferrari had only played with Mild Hybrids (LaFerrari). It wasn’t until much later when the SF-90 hit the road.

Integra (looks like with the same engine) has a datasheet on Acura web site, it says "premium recommended". The fuel efficiency listed for Integra is 30/37/33.

I am surprised with how long the ADX is. Its the same size (if not a tad larger) as the current CR-V and compact suv's! I do think Acura should have done more interior wise to make the ADX different from the HR-V because this is now the 3rd Acura to Share a dash with a Honda but the vent doesn't stretch across the dash. Also they are stupid to not put the hybrid in there. And what is it with Acura abandoning the dual clutch from the ILX? That would have been perfect for this and the Integra plus the CDX (old subcompact sold only in China for no reason) had a dual clutch while being HR-V based.

Do you think the Integra will have its dashboard and door panel redesigned to match the ADX? It’s a very nice interior, nicer than the Integra, but nobody asked for a subcompact luxury crossover when the Civic Hatch and Integra proved that hatchbacks are not less practical than crossovers. I really hope the refreshed Integra gets the hybrid and has a better powertrain than the ADX, just like how the Civic has better powertrain choices than the HRV.

Yes it may just be a fancier HR-V, but that’s what Acura offers. They’re more of a premium brand that offers more features than your standard Honda vehicle and they’ve done it for years. I personally love the styling of this vehicle and it looks awesome. Sure interior is not the most luxurious, but it is definitely more premium and upscale than your standard HR-V or Integra, and again, that’s the point. Plus this is an entry level premium SUV. If you want more fancier Acuras, then get the RDX, MDX, and TLX, those are the real Acuras if you want them and have the extra money.

This is way too similar to the HR-V. The extra length is purely from the change in the bumpers. Those rear interior door cards are straight out of a HR-V and don't even match the front doors. A few years of sale and I imagine we'll start seeing the same on this. Dig the orchid and blue interior

This absolutely has the potential to compete head on with the X1 and Q3 but this should have been a Hybrid. If this was a hybrid it’s lights out for BMW and Audi and Lexus wouldn’t be able to take all of the credit in this segment.

@Michaelnash. GLA GLB Q3 UX XC 40 are miles better than the adx. It doesn't matter if it was a hybrid or not. Importantly it has no chance of competing with freaking bmw or Audi. Again adx is very good SUV and good effort .its not going to challenge any of the big boys

@ Have you seen the interior quality of a modern Mercedes? My Civic has a better quality interior than a Maybach S Class. Press on the interior panels in a Mercedes and they creek like crazy. BMW, Audi, & Lexus are miles better and Lexus is currently dominating the segment as the UX is now Hybrid only. I’m pretty sure if the ADX was a hybrid, people would be buying it for the gas mileage alone. Getting your hands on a Toyota or Lexus Hybrid that’s not a Camry is insanely difficult.

That thing is still going to be around $42K fully loaded Base models will be around $36-$37 Most folks will still get the cheaper HRV for $30-$32K

Because it is already fuel efficient. Integra is rated 30/37/33. Pretty good for a gas car. There are plenty of people who want an fuel efficient car to reduce climate impact, but worried about cost of maintenance of hybrid (e.g., battery replacement) and risk of fires.
