I have owned siennas for 20 yrs, started with a 2004, rolled it, and walked away, bought a new 2008 drove for 11yrs, 425k miles no tune up, no tranny flush...just alternator kept going out cause i put in autozone parts😢 and air conditioner not strong cause of mouse nesting in cabin filter😅 now I have a 2015 with 140k that gets 20 city and 25 hwy. I moved my house and put a qn matress in back( without 2nd row), filled it with dirt for garden( on a tarp) and fill it with 7 adults for a road trip to vegas. Other than batteries and brakes, no big repairs. Note, get good brakes and rotors as they only get about 60k before warping. Was going to go for hybrid, but after this i this video and comments i will drive my 2015 to 500k this time! Thanks for the video! Siennas rock, its my truck that friend rely on and my car for cruisin.

Whoa whoa whoa there little lady... Did you just say you ONLY took the second row out and still fit a queen mattress between the front seats and third row? Or did you just not say third row too? I'm shocked. Haven't been up close in person yet but I swear, I heard it's comfy and drives good and I see the cool reclining seats and double sunroof and I'm sold! 😅

No way you're getting a queen in there. Queen length, maybe, but less than full-size width. The Sienna is 48" wide on the interior - queen is 60" and full size is 54" and twin XL is 38".

I have a 2007 Sienna with only 222,000 miles on it. Drives and rides as good as when I bought it with a mere 120,000 miles on it. If it ever goes belly up I am buying another similar model for cash. Analog models work fine for me. It is transportation and hauls anything from stuff to people. It is not my home. Best machine ever. Keep it simple. Invest your money in things that go up in value. We had the new design Sienna (about 2002 or so). I have owned cars at all levels of luxury but to me, this was the best car that I have owned in over 60 years of car ownership experience. It was as spacious as any moving passenger car. We did everything with it and it was flawless for about 6 years when it proved it's real worth. My wife was T-Boned right by the drivers door. She rolled over onto the roof of the car. The Jaws-Of-Life had to be used to extricate her and she was immediately taken to the Emergency Room. When I arrived a few minutes later, the Sate Police were kindly checking up on her and talking to her about how lucky she was to not even have one scratch. Imagine a violent rollover and basically walking away from it. The van was as solid and as safe as it could ever be. No injuries of any kind. My conclusion is that any Sienna is worth a buy. Just get your preference and you will be driving an excellent, reliable and safe car.

Touch screen is the same, but mounted inside panel, not ugly protruding from panel ... and "bridge". New hybrid model has no (!) rear bumper. If you are rear-ended rear door is to be damaged. Good luck to realign and repair it ! Middle row seats are not removable ( OK if you have a spare truck at home). Small tiny engine as sole source of power - battery gives you some boost for a short time and to be recharged by the same small engine . Hybrid gives you savings in a city stop-and-go traffic only. I prefer to have my 295 hp available all the time and trusted technology on hands.

The biggest issue with the 2023 Sienna is actually getting one!!! A friend of mine works for a High Volume dealer and she actually places the orders for the Dealership, she said it could be 3-5 years!!??!! Her Brother ordered one in November 2021 and he still doesn't even know when he will get it!!! She also advised that they have over 500 on order! They were only scheduled to receive less than 10 until the end of August!!??!! It is Plausible that some packages have much longer wait times than others.... but getting a Sienna is a LONG LONG wait!!! My guess is that they are re-tooling the plant preparing for the TX and GH which has pretty much brought Sienna production to a halt. I am currently driving a 2015 Sienna Ltd, it is a nice driving van and gets about 19MPG or 12L/100K. This isn't great fuel economy, but not brutal either. My wifes 2011 CRV gets about 10.5L/100K. I have a TX550H+ on order... hoping to get that within a year or so... maybe wishful thinking, but hopefully not!!

We have owned 5 sienna's for our business since the first gen 1999 till now gen 4 2025, each gen shows improvements that we are very happy about it. The 99 we drove it till the transmission went out at 380000miles. Got an 05 totaled at 90000miles that saves our lives than we got an 08 odyssey, hated it that Honda antique v6 and spongy brakes and all sort of fuse going out. Fast forward to 2011 than we got the gen 3 sienna, love the van so much we still have it after 490000miles, In the mean time summer of 2015, we got another 2015 which had over 250000miles and sold it for $10000 few months ago. Recently just took delivery of a 2025, man this thing is so much more refine than the older gen as far as chassis and suspension. although the engine noise it louder, but I find acceleration is lot quick than the V6 with the eCVT. FYI, all these sienna's we do oil and filter change every 10-15k by us and no spark plugs change, no trannay fluid change ever.

I've owned both a 2022 XLE and a 2012 XLE. Although I appreciated the ruggedness of softex, I can't help but think it was just a nice upgrade to the standard old vinyl seats (Yes, vinyl seats used to be standard). I always felt shorted by Toyota, getting into that $47k XLE and not having real leather seats. I know, you can still get nice leather seats from Toyota, but you have to go well North of $50k and get the premium trim. The mileage was hard to beat on my 2022 Sienna, but I wondered about longevity. Toyota makes a great hybrid, but I don't expect the hybrid battery to go beyond 200k, and I'm guessing it's a $3k replacement expense. The 2012 3.5 V6 will easily go to 300k and beyond, no hybrid battery replacement required. The frame is more rigid on the latest-gen Sienna, and this provides noticeably more stable (less sloppy) handling. However, you can replace the struts on the older Sienna and the ride will improve. I sold my 2022 and kept the 2012.

I love that the middle seats can either both be removed or remove just one or the other. The new hybrid Sienna as ,many above have noted, can't do that. However, we only have usb up front, and the only option for rear seat passenger phone charging would be to plug into the outlet in the hatch area. All that said, it drives great, gas mlg is manageable, great acceleration (especially passing hwy!!!), excellent practicality in removing seats etc. 2017 for the win!!! I almost forgot.....the 2017 over the 2013 for front dash setup and display. We have a much larger and closer screen to use and ot shows good backup camera display! And...far better setup for HVAC controls.

Hi folks. First,Kirk thanks for taking time and making a video. I live in Norway, and unfortunately 0 models available here. Sienna is not produced for EU market, there a maybe only 20-30 pcs for sale on the web market in whole EU,imported from the US. So I dont have much chances to try a different models. I have tried 2021 model in Germany last summer, and my thoughts are that is underpowered, and just feels a bit cramped, especially in a 3rd row,and claustrofobic with a smaller windows on the back. Also,I have a feeling that a second row is a bit low seating,I am 6'2,and my knees standing qiute high. Can anyone confirm if 2020 is more roomy, especially in a 3rd row? I have a 4 kids, and I need a space. I am aware that older gen uses more gas,and maybe questionable updated 8-speed trans. It is not an easy decision. Currently owe a Prius+ 7 seater, 1.8 hybrid but I will upgrade to Sienna. I love the Toyota hybrids, the problem with Sienna in EU is high cost and lack of power,in my opinion. Greeting to all!

When you mention horsepower numbers, mention torque as well! Torque is arguably more important anyway. A big benefit of hybrids is the torque and the instant torque especially. My hybrid, for example, only has 140 horsepower but 200ft/lbs of torque

I wanted a new Van in 2015. During research I learned the TSS and 8 speed would be added in 2018 so I waited and I am not sorry. My 18 runs great and can fly over Mountain passes with ease. My Sienna on level highways gets a consistent 28 MPG at 75 MPH. If I had to give up my V6 for five more MPG I would not be looking at a costly NEW car. I drove a 4 cyl Sienna when they first came out and have not returned to my Toyota dealer since. I only have 59K after six years. I will have 300,000 miles in 30 more years.. I wont be needing a car in 30 years, so I will keep my 2018 till I am finished driving..

My parents’ 2004 Sienna is still running at 300k km despite potentially never changing the 3 inward facing spark plugs for as long as they’ve owned it (off-lease auction vehicle - had it since 2009). Unfortunately the body rust may kill it sooner than the engine dies. My mom refuses to get a new vehicle as this old van has a lot of sentimental value.

Kirk, thanks for doing this. The 2GR is such a better power train than the Sienna hybrid. Yes, there’s a fuel penalty with the V6, but under load the V6 is so much stronger. My AWD SE 2GR was a rocket with premium fuel. I only wish you had raced the two and gave an actual comparison.
