2012 G37xS coupe (with all the options) owner here. Here are some of the specs to supplement what you weren't sure about in the video: - It's important to note that you were in the BASE version of the G37x. Your specific review car had NONE of the options included. It was missing the wireless bluetooth, GPS, 10 Bose speakers (instead of 8), magnesium paddle shifters, sport seats, first aid kit in the trunk, fog lights, bigger rotors and 4 piston/2 piston front and rear brakes, backup sensor, voice command, intelligent cruise control, etc. - The car came with 4 package add-ons: Premium, Navigation, Tech, and Sport (your review car had none of these). - The Sport version of these cars (has an 'S' after the 'G37' or 'G37x') have tighter steering, stiffer shocks, Viscous Limited Slip Differential (uses a viscous liquid instead of clutch plates), paddle shifters, sport seats (described below), aggressive front fascia, rear spoiler lip (before 2012), darker and thinner grill, aluminum pedals, 19in 7 split spoke rims, bigger front and back rotors, 4 piston front and 2 piston rear brakes, and sporty door sills. - The seats are different if you have the sports package. The have large side bolsters, power thigh extension, 8 way power, better stitching, and active head restraints (the head rest moves forward in a rear end collision to prevent whip lash) - The car you reviewed does indeed have 18in wheels. The RWD (G37 NOT G37x) sport model comes with 19in wheels. The G37xS (AWD model with a sports package) also comes with 19in rims. Only downside is the thinner tires make the ride less smooth on the road. - The 6 speed manual is only an option in the RWD version of the cars. The AWD use the ATESSA set up which uses a computer to dynamically control the wheel power distribution. With a manual shifter the car wouldn't be able to predict or control the engine power and would not be able to adjust the wheel power correctly. - The engine is a 3.7-liter VQ37VHR "VVEL" V6 (the G35 had a VQ35VHR) that puts out 328 horsepower. Starting in 2010 the engine was tweaked to put out 330hp (in the coupe version only). - The G37 is one of the few exceptions of the modern INFINITI's that retains it's reliability. Mainly because the engine and AT7 transmission are the same base used in the GTR of the same generation. STAY AWAY FROM CVT TRANSMISSIONS! That was what Scotty was complaining about in his video and unfortunately a lot of modern Infiniti's have them now. - There are 3 body styles for this car: sedan, coupe, and convertible. They come in AWD (sedan and coupe) and RWD (sedan, coupe, and convertible). The sedan is actually 10lbs lighter then the coupe. The convertible is about 400lbs heavier then both (due to all the extra gears and parts for the hard top retractable roof, and additional support under the car for safety due to no roof support) - In the convertible version there are 2 speakers on the sides of each head rest so the passenger and driver can hear the music better with the top down. - The wood trim (or aluminum trim) is all real wood/aluminum. - The window lock is for safety in case you have an obnoxious kid in the passenger seat who is too big for a booster seat in the back. - The VDC (like others said) is the Vehicle Dynamic Control which (according to INFINITI) "...is an advanced safety system that uses various sensors to monitor the driver's inputs and the vehicle's motion. It complements the Traction Control System (TCS), which helps to enhance grip when accelerating through monitoring wheel spin, modifying engine output and applying brake pressure." - The black box under that VDC button is where you insert the key fob in case the key fob battery dies and you need to turn on the car. - The brake, gas, and foot rest pedals are all aluminum in the cars with the sport package. - The LCD screen in the car you reviewed was missing the navigation package (which many come with). It would have also had a GPS function in it along with a larger hard drive to store music to. The screen would of been touch screen and there would of been about twice as many buttons under the screen. With the GPS the dial is much more useful. The car you reviewed was missing that option. - The outside trunk button only works if the key fob is near it (so someone can't pop your trunk from the outside if you're in the car). If you had the key in your pocket and pushed that silver button the trunk would have opened. - The AWD cars use the ATESSA AWD setup which is the same one in the GTR. - The AWD cars will use a 25/75 front/back power split from a dead stop to take off for better grip then swtich to full RWD as you get up in speed. The ATESSA system monitors the wheels 10 times per second and adjusts power to the front and back wheels (along with applying brake pressure to each individual wheel) in real time as you drive. It can go from a 0/100 to full 50/50 power split depending on driving conditions. It can also monitor the yaw of the car to predict if you are entering a tight turn to adjust wheel power. - With "Snow Mode" on, the drive-by-wire pedal will reduce acceleration input (so you don't accidentally spin the tires) and stay in a 50/50 AWD drive mode up to 40 mph (depending on the road conditions the wheels are sensing). - The delay in the acceleration isn't the transmission, it's the drive-by-wire system. The computer has a slight delay when you mash it, same with when you do a manual shift (in the automatic). It does this to (apparently) make the ride smoother and also prevent the engine from being harmed by incorrect user input. - If you put the shift knob into "manual mode" but don't try to change gears it will go into "Automatic Sport Mode". The only difference is that it will now go up to 7000 rpm before switching to the next gear automatically. It also won't let you manually downshift too early so you don't accidentally go down a gear and end up at the end of the rpm range. Usually you have to be below 4500 rpm before you can shift down (depending on the gear). If you're ever in Long Island, NY send me a message, I'd be happy to do a video with you about the fully loaded version of the car!

Appreciate the full on review and specs. WOW, that's a whack of info. I'm looking at a 2010 G37X (AWD) with 223K on the odometer. It drives wicked nice. Do you think it still has plenty of life with this many miles on it? Not looking to hang you on your answer. LOL Just looking for a gauge from someone who might know these better than I do. BTW - It's priced at $7K taxes in, from a dealer. Thanks a bunch!!

Hey man, I appreciate the details. I found a 2013 G37XS for $12,000 at 35k miles. It seemed too good to be true and figured it might have an accident or something. The owner stated on the post that it runs like new and has no mechanical issues. My question is, if the car has an accident report on its CarFax, would it still be worth buying? (I don't see myself selling this car ever lol)

Best way to drive sport mode in this car is only open freeway use, the shifts are clumsy in daily traffic. On open freeway with sport mode the car feels like it’s daring you to go faster, almost forcing you lol . I have an 08 g37 coupe and I love my baby ❤️

I test drived a 2013 g37x and I thought the acceleration at first was slow. Is that a normal thing. Didn't really take it fast. But it does pull once your going up to speed
@robotbro71872 жыл бұрын
@@carlosmartinez-lm5iq if you dont shift yourself, and leave it in regular drive mode it will feel slow to accelerate. Its a heavy car with not too much torque. Past 3k rpm it youll feel the power. If you dont want to shift yourself then you have to really mash the gas pedal to get it moving fast. If you dont push it the car feels heavy and slow. To have fun with it you have to really take a hit on the mpgs lol

The space under the traction control (VDC) is for the key fob. There are also bottle holders in the door wells. Although you were just in D mode, there's also a DS mode, that holds gears longer and shifts faster. My only dislike would be the premium gas and low gas mileage. Its a high rev V6, so if you wanna play you gotta pay.

@@KirkKreifels Just so you know, the reason the outside trunk button didn't work was because you need to have the key fob near it, like in your pocket. It's a feature so someone can't open your trunk outside while you're in the car without you knowing.

its an ok car, nothing special. It was good for its time but outdated now. Also, dont drive a real sports car if you want to buy a g37. I have a 2011 G37x with the Tiptronic and have had paddles in other cars, and way prefer Tiptronic than paddles any day. I am 55, and have had other sports cars, and my beliefe is a sport cars needs to have that shift sensation in the stick, this isn't Playstation this is real driving, leave the paddles for Montoya and my teenager, LOL!. I can pop the front tires off the ground in this thing, it runs quiet inside, turns corners at 50 miles an hour and you don't have to lean at all, not like you would in a Lexus or Acura. I live in Phoenix a dangerous city to drive and this car handles getting on the freeway and off like a dream. Sound system if phenomenal, car is loaded identical to the last review with the G37S, would not want the stiff steering, but would like stiffer shocks, so I put those in after market for the roads here. It is a gloss black, black leather seats, and even though it maybe 120 outside, with my front window visor I ordered, it is not as scorching as any other black finish vehicle I have ever been in, not sure why that is but I love it! My only wish is that it would have came with 20 inch wheels, other than that, you couldn't pry the wheel away from my hands, this car rocks!

VDC stand for vehicle damage control, it like traction control. And the spot under the 3 buttons is to charge/ program your key fob to your infiniti.
@DoomFinger5112 жыл бұрын
VDC is Vehicle Dynamic Control, and key fob holder isn't for charging or programing a key fob. If the replaceable battery in your key fob dies you put the key fob in there so you can start the car until you can buy a replacement battery.
