If anyone is wondering about the longevity of this set, my parents have an old version of these (probably 10-15 years old at this point) and they're pretty much good as new despite constant use. I used to dislike how heavy they were but since I've used cheaper pans in my home and seen how quickly they accumulate wear. Manufacturing quality has definitely gotten worse since then, but I'm guessing the present-day ones are still really good. I'm absolutely going to purchase one of these sets when I'm able to.

I bought it after you mentioned it in one of your videos and I double all that you said- it's really heavy but awesome quality! it's just such a bargain for a lifetime investment. I did put a frying pan under the grill for over 600F and had NO issues with wharping or anything- my suspicion is that the lids are cheaper quality and not 5-ply ,which noone really cares about , and it probably has a lower limit for heating. That's just a guess but I'm happy with the set in general and many thanks for your reco!

Wow, so you’ve been using it for 6 months and haven’t found any issues. They look in great shape. Also a tip, try a fine chain mail with your Bar Keeper’s. Btw, I don’t believe All Clad is 100% made in the USA anymore. Also, I have heard the quality of the 3 ply is not what it was 20 years ago and people need to buy 5 ply to be equal to the old 3 ply. When I recently was in a Bed Bath & Beyond, I was shocked to pick up the All Clad 3 ply and feel how light it was.

I’ve had rainbow stains a few times but vinegar took care of it. I made a shorts video about it. Check it out. 20 years ago things were a lot better all around. Interesting about the all clad 3 ply. 20 years ago I was just a pup. Thanks for sharing!

I got mine a few months ago but did see them in my Costco a couple weeks ago and you right they weren't there before that so I guess they sell fast and take a while to restock, I had to travel a bit to get mine at the time and the Costco I went to only had a few left

Just bought a set of these recently. They're nice and heavy and they heat evenly. That said, I managed to warp the two frying pans somehow. Not severely but they do rock a little bit on my glass stove top, now. At one point I deglazed them each with some cold liquids when they were hot but that strikes me as well within reasonable usage parameters. Sometimes I can un-warp a pan by heating it in the oven at its maximum temperature and letting it cool naturally but that trick didn't work here. Also, unrelated (?), all the pots and pans in the set have a strange ripple effect on the inside bottom, opposite the embossed logo on the underside. I can't feel it with my fingers but it's easy to see. Maybe I'll make a video.

Costco does not sell this set anymore sadly. However, I got lucky and found two skillets and the essential sauté pan for $6 each at a thrift store. Never used. Love these pans. I already have an AlLClad stock pot and a 5 quart sauce pan. Lucky me.

I have the original 10 piece set that was made in Italy and its just as heavy and well built as the Kirkland sets made in China and Thailand. My set has not warped. I don't know if my set as the entire cooper lining inside but it does have cooper built in as there is a cooper ring. Paid $79.00 back in 2013.

I love this set so much I contacted Costco to see if they would be re-stocking this item because I wanted to buy a set for my daughter-in-law.. Unfortunately, they have discontinued it and will not be replacing it. Maybe it was a supply chain issue, or maybe they got a better deal from a different vendor. I notice that they don't even offer a stainless cookware set in-store anymore. So maybe these didn't set their volume goals. Their website offers a Tramontina set, 3-ply, for around $300. Or there's always Misen or MadeIn. Oh well. This teaches us to jump on a great product when we find one, vs waiting. Great review, Tom.

I think based on my just buying 15pcs of 3ply Viking Stainless Steel cookware over the last Xmas holiday season i think Costco used the same Vendor in China that makes Viking/Clipper corp cookware as many features are very similar

Costco online has 7 and 14 piece all-clad 5-ply copper core sets that look exactly like the Kirkland Signature set you have in the video.. down to that copper ring that's hard to keep clean. Interesting.. 7 piece is 850.

Looks like a nice set! I only have one All-Clad pan, and I love it. The only negative is it almost seems too light. Also, I'm not crazy about the handle. If I didn't already have that, I'd go for this Costco set. The Demeyere line of stainless steel pans are beautiful, also, and no rivets. But man are they pricey!

I've seen an aluminum core 3ply 3.5T copper frying pan with copper exposed to the outside in the amazon. (Copper 1.5T) I would like to know which one is better, Copper Core Stainless Frying Pan or Aluminum Core Copper Pan. I think a copper frying pan with copper heated first would be better. I think it would be a very interesting experiment to compare the two.

great suggestions. I personally love my 5 ply copper core ss pan. The combination of alum, ss, and copper really makes it feel like a cast iron pan.

I would go with the Kirkland if you could negotiate the price. I hear some folks have had luck with eBay and the Canadian market.

Given the minimum melting points of Aluminum, Copper and Stainless Steel are above 1100-1200 degrees it is fair to say that 500-550-600 degrees is within a safe operating range.....I honestly do not know what food requires such heat for a prolonged period enough to be fully cooked....$200 is the deal of the century for Stainless 10pc Set

Is there a less heavy set you advise? I have always cooked with teflon. I do have a cast iron lodge frying pan i use. Tired of having to keep rebuying the teflon ones. I'm getting older so...don't want to have to deal with extremely heavy pans. I have a glass top stove.

Is there such a thing as a 3 ply with the copper core? There’s a brand called triplinox that’s vintage that I believe has 3 layers and for sure has the copper core in there. How would u compare that with the 5 ply?

I’ve heard of vintage pans with a copper core 3 ply instead of aluminum but they stopped doing that because the Aluminum does a better job of heat distribution and the copper does better with responsiveness. That’s when the 5ply was born. I’m doing a video on traditional 3ply vs 5 ply copper core. Should be out in a few weeks

They will have surface scratches but won’t damage to where you can’t use them

The older ones might have lasted.... New ones are very cheap and flaws in the inner stainless steel expose the aluminum layer in a year or less... We are on our 2nd set, we hoped the first was just a bad batch, and the new ones are showing aluminum in less that 6 months :-(

I think it was but depending on the price, it may be worth it because it didn’t happen to all of them. See if you could take a machinist ruler to the bottom and see?

"Great Value"...like he said , they don't say anything about the metal of the pan itself. I would rather pay twice as much for a set that is made in a trustworthy country, but that's just me. I like Costco but did they sent a metalurgist to China to control the manufacturing process??? You are using this product to cook food that will enter your body...remember the chinese drywall?????
