These are two big moving blankets that not a standard top loader would even have the capacity to handle simultaneously. Another thing to account for is that these blankets also weight significantly more soaked. So for this LG to be able to create the turbulance and wave motions with two separate agitation profiles to get these blankets moving enough with that mechanical action to clean them is quite exemplery compared to how many others would fair doing so. This machine did an awesome job.

They should design a washer in which the impeller spins in one direction and the drum spins in the opposite directions. Maybe even add fins on the insider of the drum in addition to that. That'll get the cloths moving

To wash these well, you need a front loader.

I have to say at least it used a decent amount of water! But no top load is really going to give a good turnover! These need to be in a front load. I cannot understand why all these machines on the bulky cycle cannot be set for the highest speed spin? Kirk thank you so much for posting :) :)

I never do heavy full loads only small and medium with adequate water levels so the clothes and detergent and water mix very well. I have an old Amana Top Loader with Agitator.

I have a 30 year old lady kenmore in harvest gold. I out it on heavy every time I wash my blanket. I wash blankets by themselves. my machine beats them clean. without the agitator a top loader is useless! Its nice that they put a little water in there.

I use the HEAVY DUTY cycle for all blankets, the bulky cycle doesn't cut it.

I'd like to see the machine empty on the default normal cycle with turbo wash.

Agitation just isn't aggressive enough for me. If just cleaning for odor this should be fine. If these were very dusty from being in the elements for a long time or had lots of dirt caked on them I would be very surprised if this cycle would clean well enough. Maybe using this cycle with only one blanket would help.

I agree, one blanket is more fit for this washer. I just wanted to push this washer to its limits. I was impressed with its performance compared to the other top loaders that were tested.

It is a good machine I really think the key is not overloading capacity to water level for all machines. Some do worse than others. SQ seems to handle it the best but I wouldn't even do that to a Speed Queen.

Gary Karczewski honestly it loomed loke the blankets where just floating in the washer and moving back and fourth need a front loader or speedqueen toploader.

@@lgisthebest1659 This is an HE washer so the only detergent to be used is HE detergents. HE detergents makes less suds since HE washers are sensitive to oversudsing but this doesn't mean that the clothes are not getting clean, foams and suds aren't the things that clean the clothes.

These types of machines are horrible woth bulky items. I should know, I Have an LGWT5270CW. You have to come back mid cycle to turn the clothes of you want them to get clean.. At least you could wash them by hand in this machine. LOL!

So far, I think this washer has done the best out of all the top loaders at washing the two blankets. That's just my opinion and surely not a fact. I saw at least a little bit of hope that it might wash the two blankets. To me, that was more than the other machines could give hope for.

The sad thing is that I have yet seen a top load washer handle this test with flying colors. This washer seems to have done better than the others with this two blanket test. Even though I did not notice roll over, there seems to be movement at the top which indicates a lot of movement at the bottom. You can notice the blanket bobbing up and down slightly. This is great for being stuffed with two blankets.
