I agree Kirk. I can do all of that pretty much in Restream. Not the 4k local recording but I don;t need that. And the custom layouts are coming soon from Restream too - as about a third of the price. So no, not worth it and even if it was, after the way they handled the massive price hike, I no longer want to deal with them anyway. I simply no longer trust Streamyard sadly. Thanks for this one Kirk :)

Thank you for the value. I really see the new features including the pause feature. Q: does the pause button up top in streamyard only work for recordings or live broadcast? Does the intro and outro work only for recordings? I am waiting for scence flow like evmux 😊

Thanks so much for your comment and support of the channel! The pause feature is only for Recording.... I dont think anyone can pause a live show. The Intro and Outro with for both Recording and Live Shows but I think StreamYard is still far from Scene Flow like Evmux. Have you considered becoming a member on the channel? Only $9 per month and it really helps us keep this content consistent.

Thanks Kirk! Even though I've already explored these options, it was fun to follow along with you! StreamYard is STILL worth it to me because I have landed opportunities of a lifetime because of the StreamYard pillars!

That's AWESOME!!!! It's interesting to see the wide array of responses. Personally it's a business expense for me which I make back and then some before Q1 of the year is done so I have no reason to go anywhere either. As always I thank you for your comment and support.

Thanks for the comment and support, truly appreciated. I covered the feature when it first came out just how to use it and enable it but they haven't updated it to have custome layouts yet so we're stuck with what's there. What did you have in mind? I met with someone today who asked how to do custom vertical streams which is actually possible so i'm working on that.

I have clients who prefer Restream, some swear by EVMUX, and a good amount who wont use anything else but StreamYard so I have subscriptions to all of them which helps me to create content as well. It's most definitely a business expense which i've passed the cost off onto my clients. How they did it was unfortunate but ultimately it doesn't matter.

RUSS!!!!!! Always good to hear from you and I know that wasn't an easy decision to come to but learning something new will expand the platforms you're proficient on. Are you looking to stay web-based? If so I'd recommend EVMUX. If you're wanting to move into locally installed and have a MAC, I'd recommend Ecamm Live.

Hey Kirk - if you were starting from scratch which would you pick: Ecamm or Streamyard? I'm a PC guy and have been considering getting a used macbook pro knowing that ecamm is mac only. BTW thanks for the great content you create and share!

Ecamm. Without a Doubt not even a competition. I wish I knew about Ecamm when I got started I would've skipped StreamYard all together. For me the priority has to be video quality, the ability to add the creators unique flair with branding tools, and last the experience for the end viewer. Ecamm gives me the best opportunity to check all those boxes.

Hey thanks so much for the comment and support. StreamYard stopped sponsoring me long ago because I need to be able to speak about all the platforms freely in an unbiased way. My thoughts on the current events is that its very unfortunate they couldnt find a plan to keep long standing subscribers and supporters locked in and onboard new clients under the new pricing. Still a great streaming platform but everyone will need to evaluate that price to see if it makes sense for them.

So true... It's one thing to raise prices but they doubled them which makes it very tough to justify. Thanks for your comment and support of the channel.
