Play Sound FX and Switch Cameras in StreamYard with StreamDeck
In a recent livestream someone asked how to switch cameras in Streamyard using Streamdeck. I thought about it and realized with Custom Layouts it's actually possible. Also playing soundfx into Streamyard with Streamdeck works if you create a virtual mic with Loopback. Learn how in this video.

@@kirkrnugent I use a Rodecaster Pro (first gen) so I can load sound effects and play them with ease, however the camera switching has always been a tough nut to crack without purchasing very expensive gear. Use StreamDecks are starting to appear on the market and are, therefore, budget friendly now.

@@kirkrnugent I’ve been wanting to use the digital mic software to plumb audio into the stream and couldn’t get it to work. I’ll check the rest of the videos later for a walk through. I tried the demo and had a horrible reverb.

@@kirkrnugent Hello Kirk, can you explain the next steps? I'm having trouble getting the sounds to play when I go live. I have an Elgato deck and when I launch the sounds, I can only hear them myself. I have installed Banana. Thank you.

All depends on what you’re doing but yes I use the Rodecaster Pro and the StreamDeck together all the time. Was there something specific you wanted to do with both?

You are Correct, thanks for that... totally forgot to mention Stream Deck and Loopback aren't free. However the Loopback equivalent for Windows (Voicemeter Banana) is free.

I've been having and issue with playing sound efx using Rodecaster Pro and Stream Deck. The sounds can be heard fully... Then they can barely be heard... I can't hear the sounds at all. I'm using a MacBook Air and running streamyard through Chrome. It worked fine a couple of months ago so I'm confused.

You’ll need to turn off echo cancellation for them to be. Heard fully. But turning off echo cancellation means you’ll need to wear headphones as well ti avoid creating an audio loop. For my consult sessions and training this is the issue almost 100% of the time. I hope it solves it for you too.

Thanks for the instruction, it did not work. It in fact sounds the same with echo cancellation on or off. Could it be the USB to usb-c adapters that I'm using. I use it with the Elgato FaceCam as well and I haven't had any issues with the camera. And it's not an issue with the normal functionality of the audio only the sound pads.
