I think Trickys situation is a nice example how people can forget how to communicate with people when they essentially life in their streamer echo chamber with absolute power over who may participate or not. Once you forget that your opinion isn't the end all and be all and you cannot just shut out different opinions and go to another platform where they are not virtual god suddenly the poor taste joke can lead to backlash. To which people clowned him for it especially since he said the story was great and they pointed out all issues with it such as cheap tricks to build tension and the fact it’s actually a very basic cycle of violence story with little to no actual depth. As an example of cheap rhetorical devices to build tension, there are a lot of jump saves where both Eli and Abby I think combined got saved 50 times when if the villains/bad guy just shot them instead of gloating they would have died. Dunkey literally got “Dunked” on for the fact many of the things he has pointed out for why a story was bad or down right terrible in other reviews were very present in the Last of Us 2. And he especially didn’t like the fact he was getting clowned on by people who pointed out he only logically likes the game largely cause he supports the political under tones of the game so he flipped his shit. And he largely got a away with is impulse rant of twitter and his childish review by stating most it was jokes and to be fair it was at least funny and he still make high quality content so most people forgave him because he’s normally a very competent game reviewer.

I've stopped watching anything related to tricky due to one video of her demeaning trump supporters and calling them terrible people (this could very much be very misconstrued by my biased brain as it was a good several years ago, so take with a grain of salt but she showed some great disdain for people like me so I started avoiding her stuff). I knew she hated trump, hated those who supported him, so seeing tricky make a joke over her own disappointment over a failed assassination attempt when an innocent bystander got killed is not shocking to me.
