Hello my Sweet Friends, It's so good to see y'all. It seems like forever and a day since I actually texted. I have enjoyed your video right before the Shepherds Pie was made. The trip was one of my favorites! I wish I could remember the name of the town but it was absolutely just the way I picture all English towns and the way should look! Your Christmas decorations are so lovely and warm. We put so much in placing them in just the right place. I have a hard time removing them after Christmas is over! Getting back to your videos I miss not seeing them so much and it dosen't matter if I've seen them once I can watch them again! I look forward to seeing the next one. Hello Kirsten and Joerg! A trick that works is to turn on the stove top and stay close to the heat as you cut onion and lean over the heat every now and then when you feel the tears coming… it really works! I enjoy your videos very much, you’re both lovely!!

Storing onions in the refrigerator will keep you from getting tears while preparing them. Love your channel. I believe I lived in the auK in a past life. ❤️. The Queen's Gambit was a delightful surprise. Like you, I wasn't as enthralled with season 4 The Crown, particularly the segment about the man breaking into the queen's bedroom. It was background on the tough times and went into more of that than the royals. Your Sunday ritual is lovely. You lead a sensible and good life as a couple. Walks together, reading, decorating, shopping, you enjoy it all together.

I didn't like season 4 of The Crown either because it was so much weaker than the other three. It's not due to the background on tough times. Shouldn't the economy have some impact on the royals? Loved spending your cozy Sunday with y’all. We were stationed in New London CT during the 1980, whilst there we restored a 1893 Victorian house. It was smallish, it took us 7 years to complete and then my husband retired and we moved. I know exactly what Joerg meant when he said you’d never finish! We finished! But then we had to move! We’ve been watching The Crown, season 4, and I have to agree, Gillian Anderson as Margaret Thatcher was awful, seems she was quire a miserable woman. Enjoy your week, stay safe.

Another great video. Someone keeps bringing home stollen bread and German ginger cookies...mmmm...not waiting for Christmas Dominoes are so hard to resist ..sometimes I’ll eat them in layers..marzipan , jelly and cookie ! The shepherds pie looked so good. The French Canadian way is very similar but a can of creamed corn is layered between the meat and potatoes ... adds a little sweetness Cheese on top does make a nice crust! I really enjoyed this video..like always! Take care..🇨🇦 ❤️

When I was newly married someone told me to hold a match in my mouth, later on someone told me that works only because you have to keep your mouth closed around the match. Those eggs looked incredible. I read that the darker the yolk the better the egg. Is that true? Thank you for sharing your Sunday with me.

The color of the yolk depends on what the chicken is fed. The darker the color, the healthier feed the bird has eaten. Told to me by the Secretary of Agriculture of Minnesota on a Canadian fishing trip. I noticed the eggs in Canada (at the time) had beautiful dark orange yolks.

Also of note: in both Kirsten and Joerg's videos as well as a youtube channel I watch called "Different Russia" eggs come in cartons of 10. In the US it is 12, by the dozen. Or 18 for larger boxes.

I think it is, I only buy eggs from pasture fed chickens. I try and get them from a farm close to where I live. The yolks are very dark orange and the shells are much thinner.

Hi I have kept hens for over 15 years. Naturally outdoor kept hens with good food greens and corn fed lay the best eggs. Maran hens also lay chocolate brown eggs, I used to have four and I read, that the best French chefs don't like using any other types off eggs. Also eggs are usually a week plus old before they even reach the shops. Nothing like a fresh egg x

It’s lovely to have a relaxing Sunday just to please yourselves. I have some mince and was going to make bolognese for tomorrow but now I think I will do a Shepherds pie a la Jeorg. Or cottage pie, if it’s with beef. Shepherds pie traditionally has lamb mince, I think! Thanks as always for sharing your weekend with us.

Yes though in Jamie Oliver's book he uses veal mince and still calls it a Shepherd's Pie lol. Let's just call it pie then.

Not sure why so many people feel the need to point out that shepherds pie is made with lamb.... a pie is a pie, and it looked truly lovely! I love Jamie Oliver's recipes, so lovely and easy! You two brighten up the day:) take care ❤

They are pointing it out because beef is cottage pie, you dont serve chicken and call it steak.

In this Jamie Oliver recipe it is made with veal mince sorry. We used beef mince so that our German subscribers can also cook it as lamb mince is almost impossible to get.
