THE ULTIMATE ESCAPE: A HISTORIC ENGLISH VILLAGE, AN ENGLISH COUNTRY HOUSE & A BOUTIQUE HOTEL// Hello everyone and happy Wednesday, We hope you're all doing very well! Jörg and I just returned from Portsmouth in Hampshire where we did so much and we will share it all with you. On our way down South, we explored some amazing places in Buckinghamshire that you will absolutely love. West Wycombe and its historic village is really worth visiting as is Cliveden House of course. Both belonging to the National Trust so should you be members, you can really make use of that. After that we drove to Portsmouth England where we stayed at a lovely small Boutique hotel in Old Portsmouth - a historic house hotel from the 16th century. Enjoy! Kirsten & Joerg xx

Well that was well worth the wait Kirsten and Joerg. What a lovely trip you took us all on. Loved it. I am noticing the grass isn’t green at that lovely hotel.. Is that normal? They probably don’t usually need sprinklers.. I know it’s the end of July. We haven’t visited during that time so haven’t seen brownish grass ever anywhere. We are all worried about all of you in the UK with the extreme temperatures you are experiencing..I hope you both and your family in Germany are ok. Also hope you were able to get a good nights sleep at the charming hotel.. So hard when it’s so warm! Thank you for the fun video. We booked a trip to the Cotswolds for next May..I don’t do heat well at all. Making sure it’s spring.. Rain and cool weather are aok with hubby and me. ❤️ xx

This video brought back a lot of memories for me..My home county of Buckinghamshire and my U.K. home of High Wycombe! Wonderful memories of visiting West Wycombe.. the Wycombe Caves is a great historical day out too. I believe a modern day Jane Austen movie was filmed there. Many lovely picnics on the Hill..vlog was beautifully filmed. My family there still visit Clivedon House many times.. Waddeson Manor is another stunning property to check out nearby along with Hughenden Manor and countless pretty towns and villages along the River Thames. The hotel is so pretty and quaint. I always wondered how one would bathe in one of those bath tubs in a room! So lovely to see you both ! Thank you so much

Es ist so schön dass ihr die wunderschönen Städtchen und alte Herrenhäuser mit uns allen teilt. Das kleine Hotel hat eine fantastische Einrichtung. Es gibt so viel zum Bestaunen. Man glaubt nicht dass da ein so schöner kleiner Garten ist wenn man das Haus von vorne sieht. Dass ihr bei dieser Hitze unterwegs seid und uns allen das Geschenk macht daran teilzunehmen ist so schön. Auch die Informationen von den alten Gebäuden ist immer sehr interessant und gut von euch ausgesucht. KIrsten, du siehst nach einem Tag wandern ohne Hut immer noch hübsch aus:)). What a shame you didn't go inside the church at the top of West Wycombe Hill. The painted ceiling in there is absolutely stunning. I believe a scene from Little Dorrit was filmed in there too. As for Cliveden House, during the 1960s it was the home of the 3rd Viscount Astor and famous for the Profumo Affair.

The church was closed when we were there I’m afraid. Indeed, we are aware of the Profumo Affair at Cliveden.
