@@berika6 not necessarily. For instance I've been researching some art supplies I'm looking into getting and the most detailed review with information none of the other big name youtubers had was the one with the least views. Quality does not always make it in the end. There is also a good bit of luck involved and many other factors. I've seen quite a few art youtubers where I though to myself how is it that they don't have more subscribers? Same on the other hand there are a few big art youtubers where I honestly can't understand why their following is so huge especially when compared to some of those aforementioned smaller youtubers, who [subjectively] make better quality videos. But this is something that could be argued about all day long. All I'm saying is just because it's good content doesn't mean you will definitely make it. That is certainly not the case.

Funny to see your video on a moment when I'm drawing and painting every single day, despite being an almost 40yo factory worker in Japan (which allowed me to buy a lot of the colored pencils and papers I would only dream in Brazil). And the last week I've made a drawing of a beautiful cat I found on Instagram and tagged the photographer,, now the owners of my model want me to send the drawing to Europe. Might be the second drawing I sell in a whole life of drawing for fun, but studying hard as if it was my main career. Love your videos and you art. So inspiring. Love from Japan.

Pour your heart in every art that you create and have confidence in every post you make because hardwork means absolutely nothing if you don’t even believe in yourself ❤️❤️ yes your art may need improvement and more time but while improving just remember to tell yourself that one day all of that will pay off ❤️

Kirsty, It is a goal for anyone creating art to leave their 'day job' and work with art full time. You have moved into doing art as a full time job - that is great. You achieved that goal. Now do you ever feel that working with your art as a full time obligation sometimes get in the way of your personal creative time. Sometimes we can get what we wish for and then burn out trying to keep up the expected pace. All this is great information on starting and I know all will appreciate what you say.

The most significant thought for me personally was "You don't have to be perfect and the best artist in the world to make money with your art. Art doesn't have to be perfect. In fact, it never will! We all learn through our 'happy little accidents'." -Kirsty/Bob

This video should really be titled "How to become an art youtuber"
@kaboomsihal11644 жыл бұрын
@N S That's not even remotely related to what I said. Of course there are, both on youtube and without youtube. All I said was this video talks pretty much only about how to earn money as a youtuber, not about "starting a career in art" in general. It's a pretty narrow view of a massive industry.
@kaboomsihal11644 жыл бұрын
@N S this might not be the video for you then. As I said, this talks about youtube only. There are many more ways to earn money with art then becoming a youtuber. Since I know literally nothing about your art I can't really give you advice. Heck, maybe being a youtuber is the thing for you. But it's certainly not the only art career and it's not even really particularly about art. It's almost more about being an entertainer than it is about the quality of your art. Just gotta look at some of the most popular ones, quite a few of them aren't actually good. Just good entertainers.
@kaboomsihal11644 жыл бұрын
@N S well if you're confident your art is good then that's a good start. But it definitely sounds like a youtuber career isn't something for you. A lot of what you mentioned you can learn by simply googling a bit. I don't know what kind of art you produce, the different markets for e.g. watercolour landscape paintings vs. Digital environment concept art are obviously completely different. Maybe start by putting some of your art on society6 or something similar? Generally I'd probably put art careers into 3 broad categories, although there's probably more. You can produce art and then sell it, e.g. selling original oil paintings, you can produce art as a service, e.g. commissions or working in game design or illustration etc. basically any freelance or contract art job, or you can profit off of the process of making art, e.g. youtube, tutorials, online courses etc. Generally having a portfolio is a good idea though, so maybe set one up on one of the free websites.

The painting demonstration was beautiful but the information given was somewhat click baity or vague at best. I would have personally got rid of “0 to 100k/year” from the title and just have this as a motivational video.
@hannibalfloyd4 жыл бұрын
That's why when trying to learn from people you need to pay just as much attention to their actions and what is left unsaid as to what they explicitely say. Click bait works, that's why you see more and more of it every year. At this point if you're not using it you're just shooting yourself in the foot.
@nalcarya4 жыл бұрын
@@hannibalfloyd You*re also shooting your potential audience in the foot as loads of people have a very low tolerance for that bs and will unfollow quickly.
@hannibalfloyd4 жыл бұрын
@@nalcarya Fair point but you're still talking about a minority, the extra growth you'll get more than makes up for the few people that would mind enough and that might not even have known about the channel in the first place if it weren't for the clickbait. Clickbait sucks but it's there to stay, it's up to us to learn to live with that fact and understand how it works so we're not entirely at its mercy, whilst accepting the harsh reality that if someone has a message that is worthy of your attention they have to compete with others that don't but do know how to get your attention.
@nalcarya4 жыл бұрын
@@hannibalfloyd I think you're underestimating the effects. If you want a an audience that tends to be more gullible aka people who don't mind click bait, sure go for it. If you want a mature audience that's interested in critical thinking you better don't. Also there's clickbait as in creating a hype title and there's straight up lying about the content of the video. For this video it's kinda a middleground between the two, it's just a bit more hype than what the video actually delivers.
@hannibalfloyd4 жыл бұрын
@@nalcarya Clickbait is nothing more than the art and science of making a title irresistible by giving away just enough while witholding the essential, thereby creating a gap in knowledge that the reader has to fill to put their mind at ease. And if your audience really is "mature" as you say, then the only thing that matters to them is the quality of your content, not whether they got there through clickbait or other means. That's just my two cents on the matter anyways.

There is always competition. Do NOT focus on that. Instead, see yourself being a successful KZbinr or artist, doing what you want. See cup half full. There's always room for different angles, different approaches, different teachings. If you believe in yourself, people will be attracted to you. You will find an audience that will relate to you, like your style of presentation, even if there are millions of other channels on the same topic. Do what you like. See yourself a success. Universe is infinite. There's room for you. you can do it. But first, you have to see yourself successful already, just like before you put anything on canvas, you already see a complete painting, done, beautiful, successful, in your mind. Stick with that vision for your personal success until it is finished, just like with a vision for your art piece. That's how it works.

Love business topic videos like this ! I think i struggle a bit with figuring out my style as I used to create mainly just fan art and a lot of horror character/movie character related stuff. Now I’m trying to branch out a bit because I want to do more tutorials on KZbin, and I know not everyone is interested in movie characters or especially horror.. but I feel like maybe I can incorporate some of those subjects into my tutorials as long as I diversify. Anyway thank you for always being an inspirational to many artists who are looking to develop a business from their skill !

Thank you Kristy Partridge! I've always had a very Extreme talent in drawing. But I never tried for a Career in art because I never thought it was possible. The only thing I thought I could do was Commissions and I never wanted to do that, simply because I was on someone else's time, and I had to draw something I never wanted to Draw in the first place.. I did a couple in my early 20's, and Hated it. Never went back. It was only recently I discovered the real possibilities of an Art Career through Social Media. I never realized I could do the art I want to do on my own time, and Still make a Career out of it. I realized this Largely because of Kristy Partridge, So thank you Again! You've helped me open up a Whole New World of Possibilities for me! :D

Thank you Kirsty you really are inspiring and thank you for sharing all you know for making Art an income source, $100 K is beyond more than I need to provide for my family so making art full time is getting so achievable I just need to work harder at it

Problem is just that I don't see any sense in creating educational videos, because you and many others are already doing it with greater skill ^^ I don't see why people would watch mine then.
