Kisame was a product of the blood mist village, so cruelty is first nature to him. He's kind of the other side of the coin from the White fang. But one thing you can't take away from Kisame though, he was fiercely loyal.

He almost died bc he thought he caught Killer B in a genjutsu with mangekyou sharingan, but killer b got up and almost fatally wounded him claiming a jinchuriki who works with their tailed beast is impervious to genjutsu. So for Madara to put the third mizukage under genjutsu goes to show you how powerful he really is using base sharigan no less.

I think you guys forgot that Kisame knew who Tobi was by face and called him the Mizukage before. Itachi monologuing in the background to Kisame finding resolve is 10/10 chef's kiss. Full circle moment for Guy as well

I think you misinterpreted the relationship between Kisame and Itachi. It was very understated but Itachi and Kisame actually cared about and uniquely understood each other. They both carried the burden of slaughtering their comrades and despite this, in his final moments, Kisame thought of Itachi. Not counting Pain and Konan, if you look back at the dynamics between each Akastski duo Itachi and Kisame were the only ones that spoke to each other very respectfully. Kakazu & Hidan hated each others guts Sasori was utterly annoyed by Deidara Deidara & Tobi were just not serious at all there's nothing that needs to be said there lol Itachi & Kisame legit had each others back and cared about each other in the field to avoid unnecessary risks and prioritize their safety as well.

Itachi's honorable partner. His most important thing was the mission. The guy who kllls his comrades. The shinobi who feels self worth in fulfilling missions. Partner of the guy who holds peace of his villaige in highest regard. Episode 1 naruto show said the mission is the most important thing for a shinobi and the demon of mist villaige knows it too well. Can laughingly take on tailed beasts and kages. Calls accomplished shinobis like zabuza and Mangetsu as kids. The powerhouse bodyguard of itachi.

100% they misunderstood Itachi and Kisame's relationship. Outside of Pain and Konan, they're were the only akatsuki duo that cared about each others wellbeing and also always spoke to each other respectfully which most people miss that fact. From the very first time we saw them in konoha when they scuffled with kakashi, kurenai, and asuma they would warn each other about not getting hurt. from kisame telling itachi not to use his eyes too much and itachi warning him not fight kakashi cause he would get injured, they were the duo that actually had each other back

Nahh, Kisame wasnt at his full power when fought with Gai, Everything was against him, he thougut it was ninjutsu and he didnt have samehada which he would have sacrifice to stop Gai´s attack. in a more fair fight Gai had had to open the eight door to win against him.
