Six full seconds of total silence at the end of a song, in a live performance. It's a complement that applause can't equal. Standing ovations happen every day; real silence is profoundly rare.

no, you're just an asshole. This song is about the relationship between God and Lucifer, technically non-sexual, and totally amazing. One of the dumbest aberrations of the original text of the bible (I'm treating it as literature here, so stow your fedoras, lads) was the characterization of Lucifer. Lucifer the angel is the only being in the canon who goes in a battle of right and wrong with God and gets a last word, and considering who we're talking about, that's a fucking statement. That argument is why hell exists. Reminder that in the original text, hell is largely just a place you can go to be apart from God, it was later iterations that considered being apart from god something "hellish", lucifer is technically an anti-hero. In fact, in places like Japan where the fucking establishment catholics haven't authoritarianized everything, that interpretation is the orthodoxy.

@@muffinland _" The single event that caused the biggest drop in CO2 emissions was the collapse of the USSR"_ Yes. It was also the biggest drop in life expectancy, economic productivity, social security and political stability in any developed country ever. If your solution to climate change is societal collapse, then indeed look to the collapse of the Soviet Union. And then eco-terrorism and whatever Planetina did is indeed admirable. I will just think you're insane and a psychopath. _"We'll innovate our way out of it"_ Innovation alone does nothing. We need a shift in our economic system to allow more innovations to happen and to implement them faster. Capitalism with its property structures (patents, private companies, lack of state investment,...) is holding us back in this regard. _"and the person who figures it out will make a trillion dollars doing so, and it will be well deserved.."_ Nobody makes a trillion dollars through their own work. Perhaps that person has a valid idea, but the trillion dollars will not come from the idea but from the workers that person employs to make that idea reality. Capitalists are not productive. Workers are.

The whole ideaology of Planetina is really intersting. She seems to literally feel the Earth's pain. But, don't forget that within our society doing a harmful act can make money. If that harmful act is exceptable and can generate revenue for individuals and their families than what other choices do these workers have? The people aren't to blame yet Planetina sees the laborers as a problem. Yet the real problem come from the system put in place by the 'leaders' and 'society' of the people. Never blame laborers for taking work that is available because in reality these laborers may not even want to do this work. But, remember every humanbeing has a their livelyhood and the livelyhood of their family to worry about. Planetina is a child in an adults body. She doesn't seem to have an understanding of how society works, and how society got the the current position it's in. Love yourself and your neighbors.

its about the relationship between god and lucifer. one of the stupidest ideas in modern lore is that "the devil" lucifer is an evil actor. He is not, and his entire story is about the very real luciferian dilemma of free will. Lucifer was an angel who wouldn't subjugate himself to humanity, because he only saw God as worthy. That means he wouldn't serve us the way other angels do in other stories, despite his ironic fate. At no point does he hate god or even think his little rebellion will work, he's terrified and should be. Nobody knew, or even knows the true depth of god's infinite power like Lucifer does as he was gods left hand, and its also why he occupies hell with humans, not to torture them, but as "kindred spirits" because the base rejection of god is seen as analogous to Lucifers situation. Lucifer doesn't hate you, or want you to suffer in hell, in fact he's probably of the opinion that his situation doesn't fit or suit humans, not because we are incapable, as angels should have been, but because we are not spiritually capable of existing this way. Life outside of God is considered suffering, and the luciferian story and complex is about coming to terms with authority so that you don't have to suffer in squalor because you don't respect others with authority in your life, outside of god.
