Looks a bit like Xing Yi in its entry and domination of space. One can see the whole body function as a unit. Good stuff.

Karate is from china
@azlaroc12Ай бұрын
@@DS-mh1hu actually it’s from Okinawa, but with Chinese influence. The resemblance is unmistakable. Some systems native to Okinawa however never saw much Chinese influence, such as what was practiced by nobility or Royalty. This is what I got from a friend of mine who practiced Shorin Ryu years ago.

To me it felt to me more of Bajiquan on most of the strikes and some of those four on the throws Bajiquan, Taichiquan, Liu He Ba Fa and/or Baguazhan.. and you're right really good stuff! I really liked this style

This resembles closely what we do in the BUJINKAN and also WADO RYU KARATE GIHON KUMITE
@ilpracticalkarateАй бұрын
@@patmat7984 Given that the unarmed methods of both Bujinkan and Wado-Ryu are informed by Japanese jujutsu, it makes sense for there to be a lot of similarities between the two. Personally, I find more in common between KishimotoDi and Baguazhang, but there are always going to be commonalities between most fighting systems.
@mactherealestatemanАй бұрын
@@patmat7984that's because it's all connected. Bujinkan has roots in Chinese arts, as does Okinawa-Te. Look at most Asian Martial Arts, and you'll see that the applications are almost identical.

I can see some aspects in common with other styles. Some aspects remind me of Uechi-Ryu and WingChun. Some of the throws have a certain resemblance to Ganseki-nage and other moves from the Bujinkan. Intersting in any case, thanks for sharing.

@RonniiVАй бұрын
The Karate Nerd did a deep dive in the history of Karate, and he found that Okinowan Karate (the original branch of Karate) actually had influence from Southeat Asian martial arts due to the trade routes connecting the island to that area. So Silat looking similar aligns with that hypothesis.
