Dard ka Rishta song is not even 10% of Ek Musafir Kk Haseena. AS such both the singers are good in their own way but it is wrong to compare and tune given to song of Kishor is not good. Even if same song would have been sung by Rafi Sahab it would not have been good song.

In mukhra tune slightly modified, but it is just the same in antara. Actually, if you listen to it just like 80s Ghazal of Kishore da it is beautiful, but when you see it to as a kawwali composition, thn hamko tunhare sounds better being in that zone. Also, song released first... at times get advantage of already registered in memory.

It is absolutely silly and meaningless comparing artists. As Physics is Physics and Chemistry is Chemistry, the subjects are all important and unique in their own respective ways, they make no sense when we compare one with another. It is better not to compare these two singers. One is a naturally talented, singer with a melodious voice who was able to sing any type of songs, any pitch, any mood. Music just flowed through him uninterruptedly. Rarely do we find such singers. The other is a singer who is capable of singing mediocre level songs. Not all types of songs suited him. Music directors knew his vocal range and they changed the music to suit his range. Our great musical wizards including music directors and singers never had any doubt about who is the great singer....

Aalap is important factor in Classical singing if you are comparing two singers. Kishore Kumar was given only simple song based on notes of Raag Kedar and not Classical part in the beginning of the song. Reason is Kishore kumar was not a classical Vocal singer. Rafi Saab sang raag kedar in Guru Dutt's Film "Pyasa" ..... Tang aa chuke Hai kashma Kashe" and it was a sugam sangeet song without any alap aur taan. The way Rafi Saab has sung "Humko Tumharr Ishq Ne" with Alaap, Kishore Da could not sing same or similar alaap and hence was deleted or left by the Music Director. Kishore da sang only Sugam Sangeet Part not Classical part. Get an experts report please from a Music Director. Kishore Kumar in his whole life never rendered any Aalap accept beginning notes of Koi Hum Dum Na Raha from Film Zomroo. Oodlying was Kishore Kumars speciality but same oodlying was rendered by Rafi Saab in 2-3 films Hero Firoz Khaan. Undoubtedly Kishore Kumar was God gifted singer and waited almost for 3 decades after giving melodious songs in his own films or of Dev Anand.

Pls understand, its just a comaprison of songs and not the artists. I dont know why we fans take everything to heart and emotions. At the end of the day, the whole music and film industry is about entertainment and business. The artists are also professionals. So why to make everything larger than life. Even artists live their normal life, they crack jokes, appreciate or criticise like we do. They wer also like us.. the humans. In fact not 100 percent movies or songs of actors and singers are superhit, they also gave hit, flop or average movies n songs. They also went through Good and bad times. First of all, I appreciate you for your civilized comment. I understand your concern, I know both singers hd distinct style n Rafi Sahab's singing was more classical based thn Kishore Da. But I think at the end of the day, its all about entertain. So we hv to look at it d same way. This video is also abt entertainment. Just listen to diffent styles of singing d same raga, admire and enjoy ...thats it. Why to make it larger than life. Even artists never seen it like that. Being professional singers they sing, they entertain, they earn, go home and sleep. Next day, they dont even remember the lyrics of the song correctly. So as a fan, we should also listen, enjoy n forget, rather than making it matter of life n death.
