R.D, Burman was such a poor musician with hardly any music sense that he chose Kishore Kumar for this song and the fact that Kishore Kumar song was such a hit shows that people at that time knew nothing about music. Also, so many legendary singers and composers have praised Kishore Kumar for this and many of his song. I guess they also knew nothing. What a point you make!!!!!!

Generally it is said that Kishore Kuamar's first recorded song is 'Marne ki duwayen kyon mangu' in Ziddi 1948 with music by Kem Chand Prakash. But in the 1946 film Shikari with music by S.D.Burman he has given his voice as a chorus singer. He was a great fan of S.D.Burman and K.L.Saigal and used to imitate both in his younger days.

Yes there are different version of the story but the fact remains that kishore da listened to lata didi song and than sang this song. But as per me he was able to sing as good as Lata didi. Both singers are great. Thanks for your feedback.

Re: Ek Chatur Naar - Amit Kumar, in one of his interviews stated that the song took close to 7 days to finalise not because they were rehearsing, but because they were busy listening to commentary of India's cricket test match. Having said so, he continues that the song is based on 4-5 different ragas. I am not an expert on classical music. So, I will take his words at face value.

Many readers have pointed out the unpardonable mistake of mentioning Ashok Kumar ji as Kishore da's uncle. Equally irritating is that the song "ek chatur naar" has been mentioned as written by Rajendra Kumar instead of famous lyricist Rajendra Krishan. Such producers/presenters should never be allowed to go on air, if they can't give such basic and correct information.

RD was one and only who knew the rules of music and to break as well, the maestro left behind tails of his mourning admirers and fans, he experimented and innovated setting the new trends of music composition, Nasir Hussin went to Shanker after demise of Jaikishan but he recommended RD for Teesri Manzil, RD was avid listener and observer of classical, western, Beethoven, Mozart, Arabian and African sounds of music, at times he formed team with seven music directors and arrangers, he was Captain of the Ship, a great hardworking team of exceptional instrumentalists and musicians comprising Kersi Lord, rhythm arranger Maruti Rao Keer, Manohari Singh, Bhanu Gupta, Ramesh Iyer, Homi Mullan, Bablu and Sapan Chakroborty, Ranjeet Gazmer"Kaanchcha" Dholak master Dubey Ji, Pandit Hari Prasad Chaurasiya, Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma, Luis Banks, Franco Vaz even Sonik-Omi and galaxy of talented musicians. RD was proficient Sarod and Tabla player too besides almost all instruments at his disposal and many innovated by himself. A very hardtaskmaster RD's tune making and background music composition was par execellance, he took the services of Pandit Samta Prasad, the noted tabla player, when in Film "Sholay" the decoits following Basanti and one of the wheel of her tonga broke down, here the sound of Tabla from Pandit Ji came into play, that was RD's imagination. He was fond of natural sounds of Rains, Chirpy birds, roaring clouds and sea, flowing winds and so on, he would record these sounds of nature and use them wherever applicable. I think you need to do the fact finding first and then record your messages, RD himself confirmed, Amit Kumar confirmed and it is available on youtube as well that KK asked RD to first ask LM to record and then I will sing it.
