Having said that, there are some songs that only Mohd. Rafi could deliver, some that only Mukesh and so on. Just listen to a lilting composition from a private album by Khayyam " Paun padoon tore Shyaam". I cant imagine anyone other than Mohd. Rafi singing this (male or female).

And you are right in saying that hume tumse pyar kitna could have only been sung by KK. In fact in my opinion (which I am entitled to) i liked it more than the female version. Another example is "Aye Khuda Har Faisla" ,again composed by by RDB. That's precisely my point about some of these songs that Md Rafi, Kishore Kumar et al sang. Those could have only sounded best with their voices.
