Kisii leaders urge Governor Arati and MP Silvanus Osoro to end their feud

Abagusii Council of Elders have called for an immediate ceasefire between Kisii Governor Simba Arati and Mugirango South Member of Parliament Silvanus Osoro. A multispectral meeting comprising of Elders, former political leaders, and church leaders which was convened to broker a truce between the warring leaders resolved to mediate between the two leaders and called on those fuelling chaos in the county to desist. The meeting also called on the security agencies to investigate and take action against the mastermind of recent skirmishes in the country. The meeting was attended by Education Cabinet secretary Ezekiel Machogu who had offered to mediate between the two leaders. Osoro attended the meeting, but Arati was conspicuously absent, with the leaders claiming he was engaged elsewhere.
