So cool! what a great episode to listen to as I wait for my horsetail tea to brew... I wonder if KNF methods could help with freeing up more biogenic SiO2 or SiOH4. I'll harvest more and spray it with LAB! Also I noticed that Tad is saying Salicylic acid for the first half, confusing it with silicic acid. Though also useful for some gardening applications, aspirin is not going to give your plants any Si ;)

Lol that’s entirely possible. I was really just focusing on not saying silicone instead of silicon. Yes you are correct that salicylic acid is very different than silicic acid. Thanks for catching that and commenting!

Great episode. My first crop I ran a MSA and had good results. I didn’t put it in my second and my stems felt more fragile, and the plant stressed easier than previous run. Anecdotal, but adding it back in next run.

Also curious why manufactures of liquid MSA typically recommend cutting it out around week 3 of flower. Is their some effect on the flower? Thanks.

That answered every question about silicon anyone would really ever need. Answered even about vermiculite which Dr.Bugbee said about his 50 percent vermiculite that everyone shit on.

This episode was a very informative gem on an apparently under rated element. I have only ever heard heavy emphasis on Si supplementation in the Bio dynamic gardening literature I've read. Most articles/ books say the presence of Si was hi enough to not see a deficiency.
