Absolutely! I think Gene and Paul were getting concerned about Peters rising popularity when he sang the best 3 songs, hands down, on Rock and Roll Over. Genes voice sucks, not sure how his vocals ever made it to the radio waves. I think that's part of what started the riff in the band. On Peter Criss' worse day he could sing Paul under the table.

Yep, Catman had by far the best voice in the band!!! They, knew it as well, but didn't want to admit it!!! Black Diamond, Hard Luck woman, and Beth are 3 of Kiss fan poll even top 5 songs, and my favorite member and amazing Peter Chriss sung all 3!!! Coincidence, I don't think so, him and Ace were absolutely the best in the band!!!!

In his book, Gene claims Peter "asked for permission" to attend the convention, they had rehearsals and Peter's drumming "wasn't up to snuff", but "out of the kindness of his heart", Gene told him he could still play with them and just sing. According to Eric Singer, Peter just showed up, came backstage, said hi, introduced everyone to his daughter, then went back outside. As soon as he left, Eric asked, "Why didn't you ask him to play with us?!" Someone was sent to retrieve Peter, they asked him to join them onstage and he did.

Eric Singer confirmed in an interview that it was his suggestion. Peter wanted to bring his daughter down to show her a part of his past. When Gene called Eric to ask if he'd be okay with Peter being here, he said he'd be fine and said that if Peter's going to be there, they should pull him up to play.
